Heard that Sitex is going to offer their own charts for their Navpro line of plotters. They currently use C-Map 4D and Navionics Platinum +.
Seems like a big leap. I wonder how you even go about creating charts like that. I'm assuming that they'll be vector and that you buy the base cartography from someone and then overlay what you want on it. Garmin did it with their Bluechart but they're a great big company with lots of money. I don't know how Sitex works, there is a Koden connection and their Navpro plotters are made by Seiwa, an Italian company, and sold in other parts of the world under that name. Maybe there is a big parent company somewhere. Not sure what the motivator would be to use Polaris charts over the other 2 more well known alternatives. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
