Self propelled surfboards. Sneaking up from behind, what could possibly go wrong. :nonono: Apparently I wasn't making a big enough wake for them.

Think that's bad, just got an advertisement from West Marine for a stand up paddle board with a 6hp outboard on it.... Yahoo!!!!!!

Hmmm, this brings up lots of questions. Do they (motorized SUP's) require registration and display of numbers? Do they have to meet all the USCG safety items? Nav lights? Nav Rules?

Guess that's going to be a jurisdiction specific. Down here (LA), basically if it floats and has propulsion it needs registration.

Yes, like putting a motor on a sunfush sailboat...or the ocassinal state that might have unusual regs.....unless like jet skis, waverunners they get exemptions.

Like waverunners don't have lights, so no use after sunset, etc.
