We are looking to winter over in S. California. 58' live on part time when we are not traveling overland. Is there a forum or thread where boat owners might sub-let their slip in their absence?

I've searched Face Book and a few other spots, but have not found a forum dedicated to S. Cal.

Thanks ahead!

I used to live in Newport Beach and kept my boat in Long Beach. There is a marine website- Thelog.com. It covers SoCal and owner's advertise slip and mooring availability. There is also one or more brokers who represent owners who want to lease their slip.

Long Beach, San Pedro and the Chula Vista area of San Diego have the better prices. Newport Beach is through the roof.

With the current boom in boat sales, slips will be scarce and expensive, particularly liveaboard ones. If you can avoid it I wouldn't talk about live aboard status.

Great, I will check it out. Yea I have no illusions of just slipping right in. Appreciate it.

Island Yacht Anchorage #2 may have open slips big enough. It is in Wilmingtom, CA LA/Long Beach harbor area They did last time I heard. There is a wait for liveaboard status, last I heard. You can call Terry at (310) 830-1111.

I did a (land-based) tour of San Diego Marinas a couple of months ago looking for non-liveaboard space for my 72'. They basically just laughed at me!
