This is at the entrance to Stoney Creek, behind my home. I think it was in April of this year somebody gave this channel marker a Gawd Almighty schwack in the middle of the night. I was out of town but one of my neighbors heard it. He said he can't imagine how the boat that hit this marker didn't sink.
How fast do you have to be going to knock one of these down? I come through here at a blazing 5 kts or so. Thunder-boats sometimes blow through at full throttle - they must think they know the channel well because there's little room for error in "Stoney" Creek. This guy erred. I can't believe it was a thunder-boat at speed, there would have to have been fatalities.
The CG was out this morning making repairs.
