Got this spiffy Mantus 45 for $337 at the St Pete Boat Show. Assembly was required and the bolt holes didn't line up, but she's together! What's under your tree this year.

But if you buy several anchors that need assembly, you can mix and match parts to come up with the perfect anchor.

Beats cutting and welding and grinding like some do all the time....

Best part is...when you discover the original design is really better, you can switch the parts back to the right anchor and all is well in anchorworld....

Gee, I feel kind of silly, but following an old trick I learned from Hopcar, I just kept turning the parts until I found at least two bolt holes that lined up. That's all there was to it! Is this thing going to look great on my bow pulpit or what?

Bolt on a couple Fortress parts in there, you might triple the holding power in mud..

Now that you got it right, don't forget to go back and weld up those "spare" holes. Maybe weld it all up so it won't ever loosen up.

Nope. Don't weld it. Put lots of silicone on one side a lots of 3M 5200 on the other. Try to mush them together through the remaining holes to get the best bond.

Do NOT put any 5200 on it as even at the end of 300' of chain it's still too close to the boat.
