Years ago it was called the Whitbead Race and the boats came to Annapolis and Baltimore harbor. We watched the boats racing up the Cheasapeake to the finish line of one of the legs at the Key Bridge that crosses the Patapsco River. We followed along in a Bertram 25 until the wind reached 20 plus mph. Exciting watching race boats sail past.Enjoy your trip!
 
Have come to thinking any of the RTW races are won by the sailors. Now the America’s cup is won by the engineers.
 
It must be quite the rush to crew one of these rocket ships though. Not for the faint of heart

Yes. We patrolled the Americas Cup when Dennis Connor first used the multihull against the monohull. Not much of a race.
