    • Ads that are inactive for 180 days or longer may be moved to the Classified Archive and locked. Ads may be relisted if the item is still current. Alternatively, owners may contact a Moderator to reinstate an archived ad.
    • The Classified section is for advertising, members are asked to refrain from posting discussions to a Classified Ad. Please start a discussion thread or PM the owner for discussions.
    • Do not hijack another member's ad by posting unsolicited commentary. Example: if a member has posted an ad offering an anchor for sale, don't add a post to his thread stating that you have an anchor you'd like to get rid of also. Posts deemed as unsolicited commentary may be removed.
    • For your own security, do NOT include your e-mail or phone number in your ad. Instead request that interested parties contact you via PM (private message) to provide owners contact info.
    • Brokers, Dealers, or those with a commercial interest in a sale are prohibited from posting in Classifieds.
    • Only Trawler Forum Commercial Members may post ads in the Commercial section. You must be a designated Commercial Member to start threads in this section of the forum. (Contact a moderator if you have questions about this)
    • Don't post links to commercial sites where you are also offering the boat, such as eBay, Craigslist or Yachtworld, etc. unless it contains a more in-depth description, additional information or pictures.
    • Place only one ad per item (you may repost only when your ad has expired and been removed).
    For Sale ads MUST include:
    • Asking price
    • Location
    • A Basic Description
    • Clear statement whether you are the owner or non-owner (posting for friend, relative, or acquaintance)
    • Don't forget to select: FOR SALE, WANTED or FREE in the Title block.
All ads should also include ALL the following:
    • Pertinent maintenance and condition information
    • Exterior picture or pictures
    • Interior picture or pictures (boats)
For maximum impact & exposure, it is suggested the Ad Title include: Year, Manufacturer, Model, Length, Price, and Location or at the very top of the ad body. When your item has sold or the ad is no longer relevant: Please post a Reply to the ad that the item is SOLD or click "Report Post" on post 1 of the thread to ask a moderator to archive the ad. • Avoid Scams.

Our classifieds are free and anyone registered here is welcome to post an ad.
Be aware that there are unscrupulous folks out there. Avoid any interaction that seems odd to you or feels wrong. Inquiries from unknown buyers, buyers agents and other non-traditional approaches should be treated with extreme caution.

Beware of unsolicited contacts offering to put you in touch with someone else who is buying or selling via e-mail or text.

Do not post your e-mail address or phone number in a classifieds ad.

Hints that you may be dealing with a Scammer:
    • Seller or Buyer approaches you via a direct email or PM and then steers you to an off-site communication method (text or email).
    • No posts or very few forum posts.
    • Recent forum membership
    • Insists on conducting negotiations via email or text rather than PM
    • Requires payment via Bank Transfer, BitCoin/CryptoCurrency, WesternUnion or other unsecured method.
    • Buyer or Seller suggests Paypal "Friends and Family" payment. Paypal is a good way to arrange payment but an invoice for goods and services should be used rather than "Friends and Family". "Friends and Family" avoids fees BUT there is no recourse if the transaction runs aground. Friends and Family is for gifts only. There is no protection for Friends and Family transactions, so never ever use it to buy something.
    • Declines to allow viewing the item before proceeding with the transaction.

Is this the part that mounts on the swimboard? Would these work on an 8' Livingston?

Sorry, I've never seen this system in person before.

you will have to research the other part of the davit system on either defender.com or inflatables.com the part I am selling bolt onto your swim platform. you would need the other attachments that bolt onto on to the swim platform to tiltl up on the davit heads. the 2 brackets I'm selling normally sell for around 180 to 200 dollars. feel free to give me a call at 5613397163 if you have more questions. the Weaver davits are the most inexpensive and most effective thanks Larry

I am using similar Weaver davits on my swim platform to hold a 9' Livingston. They work well. They were on my boat when I bought it and I called Weaver to find out what parts to use on a hard dinghy to match up to them. They told me to use the heavy duty brackets (not shown on Weaver's web site) and I bought them directly from Weaver. Hope this helps.

Craig, those are all wrong for a Livingston on an Owens. I think you should sell 'em to me. I've got $25.

The newer heavy duty davits for bigger dingies are completely different...the loops are on th eplatform and the latches on the boat..

Hope they work nice for you ....but for others looking to buy ...investigate before buying!

Please call Weaver and get the backing plates for them before you put a Livingston on these. I have the same rig. I can send pics if you need.

I'd love to see the pictures Tom as I'll be fabricating them in my shop out of 410 stainless. The price I paid for these brackets would not have covered my expense making them one-off in house.

These are what I was looking for! I just could never remember what they were called. Do these davits only work with certain types/models of tenders? I think I am going on a google mission today. Trying to decide tender, but these davits would have helped a lot in the past...

No Ben. They will work with almost all dinghy's. However, there are some that are exceptions that require some special adaptors or pieces-parts. Livingston and Whaler are the most notable. Whaler has an extra wide gunwale that they made a special hook for and Livingston mainly because of weight.

Anyway, I will snap some pics today for you Craig and post them.

Tom-

Well depicted Tom. Do they also have configurations for inflatables? I am sure the answer is yes. Once the Oriental boat show comes, we'll be shopping hard - pretty much buying one, unless I am grossly offended by limited options - for a decent tender.

My business travel and school schedule is stupid-busy over the next four weeks - so shopping is limited, but a good tender is a priority. We've been looking at inflatables, but you've had success with your hard-bottom (tender, I mean). You bought yours from a buddy, yes? Our big thing has been how to get my body, Debbie, 80-pound lab, 8-pound Yorkie, two teen daughters, their friends, and their drama all in one tender. Realistically one that can handle mostly two, but occasionally four in a boat with motor without tipping, swamping, or overloading. Our original inflatable could do that, but it was poorly made (very entry level) and deteriorated after three summers.

The davits are essential because we've played hell with our own homemade arrangements, but lucky enough to avoid injury.

Thanks Tom! Gives me a frame of reference for when I fab my version in a couple weeks. Mine will drop 2 inches down below the bottom of the gunnel as I want the dink to be closer to the stern of the boat.

The back door of my fully enclosed berth requires this slight modification to help make it work. Either that or I give up the enclosed berth and go with a covered one and wash the boat more often.

I'll bet your diver appreciates these.

They actually came with the backing plate kit I ordered from Weaver (when I ordered the Livingston hooks). More than the diver likes them... In the background is the boarding ladder for the swim platform. Personally, I am incapable of sitting and enjoying myself floating by the boat. I have to check the running gear, wipe the slime off, kill the spiders nesting in the tiny places under there, check the thru-hulls... etc.

Read that as : Tom bashes his head on the under side of the swim platform more often than not..... :hide:
