And so excited to skipper a new boat this summer, its been 3 summers of bumming around on friends boats, and they were mostly center consoles set up for serious fishing, but since buying my willard I've fell back in love with just cruising this past winter and what a joy the nice weather is so close, got 2 big trips planned already, first is the lobster boat races in Maine, and second is out the edge of the continental shelf,in the canyons of the northeast yellowfin fishing, the boat is running so smooth and is such a joy to drive

I can only imagine the job of hauling a 150 lb yellowfin up over the rail... That's jealousy talking :) I keep my halibut smaller, partly because we like them smaller, but also because I hate fish larger than my cleaning table (42"). We used to go clean them on the beach, but from offshore it would be a long run to the beach.

Enjoy your summer, Lostsailor! Good luck with yellowfin tuna.

We mainly get the bluefin here. They are one of my favourite to catch.

"lobster boat races in Maine" we did the races in South Harpswell two years ago (last year was cancelled due to Covid)

Which ones are you targeting? They're up and down the coast all summer....

Aug 19 Portland harborfest it's about 80 mile steam,I would like to go to a couple more but once the big stripers and tunas show up our little crew will be doing more fishing than anything
