Hi All,

During and after our first season of real anchor use, I looked over the wiring and found this monster fuse in the circuit next the isolator switch. Can’t get this anymore... the old Maxwell HWC-700 is hanging in there. So I need to replace this thing. Should I install a fuse or a C/B? The original instructions call for a slow blow fuse of 200A.

Dave

Looks like a rebuildable fuse to me. I just ordered these for my similar windlass fuse: https://www.ebay.com/p/1718866104

Pop it out (after making sure no power is flowing) and unscrew one end. The replaceable element should be exposed, held in place by two screws.

I still need to figure out why I blew one the last time I used the windlass.

Any decent electrical supply wholesaler should be able to supply a new one.
Carry a spare.
