For the five years I've owned my MT34, I have been irritated about access to storage under the bench in the salon and under the bunks. The sliding doors only allow access to one-half of the space at a time, and it's difficult to reach back in to get access to much of the space. My solution has been to fabricate "drawers" by removing the sliders, trimming one edge of each, and butt-gluing them together with biscuit joinery. Viola, the front of a drawer. A sheet of 3/4" plywood for the sides, and 1/4" ply for the bottom, and I can used a great deal more space.
The photos are the drawers for the aft cabin; MT34 owners will recognize why the port side drawer is lower -- to clear the exhaust hose that also runs under there. Two more are already on the boat under the salon seat.
These still need some paint, cleanup of the drawer fronts, etc. but you get the idea.
