Generally speaking, You can not charge AGM and Lifo4 with the same charging parameters. They should be using separate sources set for each type of batteries. The only way both would need the same bulk, float, abortion voltages and more. You run the risk of fire, or just ruining your batteries.

I want to thank McMaster-Carr. I was sent or I ordered the wrong part, a U bolt. The order was placed over a month ago and I was on my boat when I noticed it was wrong. I called them, they were great. They sent out a new one free of charge and I should have it tomorrow.

One thing, but that's me. Can the ALT from the genset handle the load. I did the same thing, but installed a breaker only for being on the hard in the winter time. That ALT was only sizes to handle it's battery.

Why remove the site glass? You could add a Tee and have both. For me its not worth it, but for some it may.

What about Dielectric Grease. Conductive grease makes me apprehensive to use it. If the motor case is grounded, it could short out.

As Dave pointed out, the relay could be the problem. Are you getting voltage to it? I would change the lugs too. A bad connection is not going to help.

I would clean it first and take another pic. There looks like one big scratch vs pitting. Maybe we are looking at scratches along with some form of dirt?

A normal charger that uses shore is a A.C. to D.C. charger. A DC to DC charger is just that. In my case charging from the starting bank AGM to the house Lifop4. The DCtoDC charger takes the charge current from the ALT that is set up for AGM and and uses that current and to power the DCtoDC...

I never put the EVs in that light. But you are 100% right. Way larger battery bank, overnight charging at 240V in the 30A range. So thats in the 3000 amp @ 14V range, if my math is right? We don't come close to that.

I am most likely no big help. If it was me, I would use a meter and see if you get the same readings. The cheaper the meter the less it will react to the changes. If the problem is still there, I would be checking connections and cables and replace if needed. I just installed new starting...
