Removal of Sand/Epoxy finish on foredeck.

I’ve looked into awlgrip and it looks quite technical too. A lot of sanding with very fine grit paper. I may have to look into an easier topcoat for those channels. Jim

Removal of Sand/Epoxy finish on foredeck.

It’s finally almost finished! Three coats 2-part epoxy primer. Kiwi Grip on today. It looks really sharp! I think I will use Awl Craft in the channels. Anyone with experience with this product? Suggestions, advice most welcome.

Mixing proportions of Interlux 2-part Epoxy Primekote by weight?

Thanks Ken. For sure, you cannot use the same 3:1 proportions by volume to weight in grams. I measured amounts by volume of the two components, using the indicated volumes on each of the two tins. Part A is 0.71 litres and Part B is 0.24 litres for a total of 0.95 litres (1 US quart) These...

Mixing proportions of Interlux 2-part Epoxy Primekote by weight?

I finally got through to Interlux. Unfortunately he could not, or would not answer my question. “We do not recommend mixing by weight as the mixing proportions would be off.” GRRRR! I guess I will have to do the calculations myself! The problem is, the main component is not pourable. I guess...

Mixing proportions of Interlux 2-part Epoxy Primekote by weight?

I would like to know the mixing proportions of Interlux 2-part Epoxy Primekote by weight please. I wish to use less than the full one quart of total product and as the contents of the large can are putty-like, doing this by weight is much easier. I have an email in to Interlux, but if anyone...

Nuisance trips, 2 amp fuse, Magnum Energy “ME-BMK/ME-BMK-NS Battery Monitor Kit”

Mine has always worked well. The nuisance trips, while annoying, are infrequent and solved by putting ina new fuse. I feel I need to resolve this before heading out this summer. Jim

Nuisance trips, 2 amp fuse, Magnum Energy “ME-BMK/ME-BMK-NS Battery Monitor Kit”

I have a Charles isolation transformer installed. Hopefully that bypasses this issue. IIRC, the fuse also failed when combining the house and start batteries when pulling the anchor. Jim

Nuisance trips, 2 amp fuse, Magnum Energy “ME-BMK/ME-BMK-NS Battery Monitor Kit”

Well she said 8-10 years on this unit is typical. I’m not sure why it would fail. Also have considered going to a 3 amp fuse as well. That was the discussion with another forum member. However, I’m going away to distant realms this summer, and I don’t need this thing failing in the middle of...

Nuisance trips, 2 amp fuse, Magnum Energy “ME-BMK/ME-BMK-NS Battery Monitor Kit”

I got through to Magnum Tech support. She said it was a sign the BMK is beginning to fail. The good news is the one currently in available can be swapped back in with similar wiring. They are not that expensive. She suggested the ME-BMK-R-L. Jim

Nuisance trips, 2 amp fuse, Magnum Energy “ME-BMK/ME-BMK-NS Battery Monitor Kit”

I’ve had a chat with a forum member off forum about this but thought I’d check with other emerges who on this unit tosee if they have had a similar experience. I’m getting nuisance trips of the 2 amp blade fuse on my Magnum Energy “ME-BMK/ME-BMK-NS Battery Monitor Kit”. This affects the...

orcas attacks... which protection for rudder and fins on trawlers?

Sointula: I’m struggling to understand your background in marine mammal protection, that would make me believe, your opinion is professionally based? I’ve worked in this field. Have you? Jim

orcas attacks... which protection for rudder and fins on trawlers?

I doubt that it would be illegal. It’s a completely passive system. I’ll ask Paul Cottrell One of my biologists developed an electrical deterrence system to prevent predation by seals of our salmon catch in gillnet test fisheries in the Fraser River. It was highly successful, but it was...

    West Coast Vancouver Island

PB: Yes. They had a rule, after 5:00 pm, no visitors to the Hotsprings other than the FN community. They were definitely running the show and would not allow vessels at the dock. Jim
