• Trawler Forum Classified Posting Guidelines
    • We expect ads placed to be related to the topic of this forum.
    • Ads that are inactive for 180 days or longer may be moved to the Classified Archive and locked. Ads may be relisted if the item is still current. Alternatively, owners may contact a Moderator to reinstate an archived ad.
    • The Classified section is for advertising, members are asked to refrain from posting discussions to a Classified Ad. Please start a discussion thread or PM the owner for discussions.
    • Do not hijack another member's ad by posting unsolicited commentary. Example: if a member has posted an ad offering an anchor for sale, don't add a post to his thread stating that you have an anchor you'd like to get rid of also. Posts deemed as unsolicited commentary may be removed.
    • For your own security, do NOT include your e-mail or phone number in your ad. Instead request that interested parties contact you via PM (private message) to provide owners contact info.
    • Brokers, Dealers, or those with a commercial interest in a sale are prohibited from posting in Classifieds.
    • Only Trawler Forum Commercial Members may post ads in the Commercial section. You must be a designated Commercial Member to start threads in this section of the forum. (Contact a moderator if you have questions about this)
    • Don't post links to commercial sites where you are also offering the boat, such as eBay, Craigslist or Yachtworld, etc. unless it contains a more in-depth description, additional information or pictures.
    • Place only one ad per item (you may repost only when your ad has expired and been removed).
    For Sale ads MUST include:
    • Asking price
    • Location
    • A Basic Description
    • Clear statement whether you are the owner or non-owner (posting for friend, relative, or acquaintance)
    • Don't forget to select: FOR SALE, WANTED or FREE in the Title block.
All ads should also include ALL the following:
    • Pertinent maintenance and condition information
    • Exterior picture or pictures
    • Interior picture or pictures (boats)
For maximum impact & exposure, it is suggested the Ad Title include: Year, Manufacturer, Model, Length, Price, and Location or at the very top of the ad body. When your item has sold or the ad is no longer relevant: Please post a Reply to the ad that the item is SOLD or click "Report Post" on post 1 of the thread to ask a moderator to archive the ad. Ads may be moved or removed by our staff at any time for any reason. All ads must comply with site rules. Thanks for your cooperation.
  • Avoid Scams.

Our classifieds are free and anyone registered here is welcome to post an ad.
Be aware that there are unscrupulous folks out there. Avoid any interaction that seems odd to you or feels wrong. Inquiries from unknown buyers, buyers agents and other non-traditional approaches should be treated with extreme caution.

Beware of unsolicited contacts offering to put you in touch with someone else who is buying or selling via e-mail or text.

Do not post your e-mail address or phone number in a classifieds ad.

Hints that you may be dealing with a Scammer:
    • Seller or Buyer approaches you via a direct email or PM and then steers you to an off-site communication method (text or email).
    • No posts or very few forum posts.
    • Recent forum membership
    • Insists on conducting negotiations via email or text rather than PM
    • Requires payment via Bank Transfer, BitCoin/CryptoCurrency, WesternUnion or other unsecured method.
    • Buyer or Seller suggests Paypal "Friends and Family" payment. Paypal is a good way to arrange payment but an invoice for goods and services should be used rather than "Friends and Family". "Friends and Family" avoids fees BUT there is no recourse if the transaction runs aground. Friends and Family is for gifts only. There is no protection for Friends and Family transactions, so never ever use it to buy something.
    • Declines to allow viewing the item before proceeding with the transaction.

I bought this earlier this year and I think it's one of the nicest Defever 41s out there now. Unfortunately have now started a company and need the capital. Basically new galley, nice salon, dual steering stations, and two ensuite cabins. The master has a queen berth and a head with a separate shower stall and a good size closet. The vessel gone through two significant refits, one this year and one over the past few years and has essentially been unused the past decade. Deck and hull were painted, engine rebuilt (single Ford Lehman 120 with fuel polishing system, no records but we pulled off the valve cover and it does look like a lot has been updated), and electronics were updated by the last owner. He actually stripped down the outer layer of the bottom and re-glassed it so it’s pretty pristine. It has a suite of recent and unused Raymarine electronics including an MFD, Radar, and autopilot and a Vertus bow thruster with dual steering station controls

Under my ownership this year, I did the following:

Ripped out and replaced all the plumbing and water pump
Put in a new waste tank, new hoses, a new Raritan toilet (Master), new macerator
New 250 amp balmar alternator
New Victron Multiplus 3000 watt inverter/charger with Cerbo touchscreen and smart shunt
3 new 200 amp hour AMG house batteries
1 new Group 32 AMG starting battery
All new battery cabling, dual circuit system, fuse blocks and more
New bilge pump
All new galley with $3500 GN Espace Ocean Chef stove (can only get in england), $2500 Vitrifrigo Fridge, and new $2200 Corian counter tops with a new stainless sink and faucet
New Trident propane locker, solenoid, fiberglass tank, and control panel
New outdoor speakers and head unit
Most of the exterior wood has been stripped, sanded, and sealed (still some to do)
Flushed steering system, replaced a bunch of the steering hoses, and put in new oil (the expensive stuff)
New interior control switch for windlass
Exterior rail was removed, stripped screws fixed and replaced
New upholstery on flybridge and captain’s chair
Bottom painted with Petit Hydrocoat and anodes replaced
Pulled chimney off and reseated it (sealed with epoxy)
New running lights

And a probably a few other things I am forgetting.

Also, has a rebuilt AC unit (rebuilt by last owner) that I have not reinstalled

This vessel is in great shape and ready to cruise. There are a few small projects left but nothing major. Some those items include: new windshield wipers, maybe refinish salon and galley cabin sole (though not that bad), finish some of exterior wood (I have probably done about 2/3 of it), new bimini (probably has one season left in it) and maybe update the salon upholstery at some point. I had it cleaned though and it's not bad.

Currently in Portsmouth, RI and out of the water, but going in tomorrow. Feel free to call or text with questions: 646-744-8403. Asking $89k.

Beautiful boat. Did you also have it listed on the DeFever cruisers forum under “boats for sale?”

How did you paint the deck, looks like teak overlay.

How are the fuel tanks, original steel?

Hmm, did I say I painted the deck? Mistake if so. Topsides have been painted and cabin top.

Yep, original but seems to be in good condition.

Btw, I am reducing price to $79k if anyone here is interested.

NMT - how did you finagle an Espace stove? I would own one if I could figure out how to get it to the US. I'm tempted to buy your boat and swap the stove (kidding, but you get the idea).

Folks, I have never been aboard this boat but from the equipment list in Post #1, if I were in the market anywhere on the East Coast, I would bullseye myself to take a look. NMT probably has close to $5k in electrical upgrades alone (batteries, Balmar, Inverter, cabling, etc.).

Hah! Yeah I managed to buy it from someone who basically never used it. I wanted a stove with a thermostatically controlled oven so I hunted far and wide for it. It’s awesome. I was tempted to take it out now that I’m selling it but don’t have the energy to store it.

Thanks! Yes, inverter plus shunt, comms center, and screen was close to $2k, over $1350 in batteries, $1300 in alternator & regulator plus $200 custom stainless motor bracket, $900 in cables, fuses, and other parts, and $2000 in labor from a certified marine electrician.

Lots of updates and work done on this one! Wish I didn’t have to sell

Is this still for sale? I sent you a PM a couple of days ago.

I PM'ed you my email address

Interested in taking a look at this beauty if she's still available. Can you let me konw?

Thanks, Kelli

Sorry for the delay here. Closed and sold her last week. Thanks for the help and interest all.
