There's a kk42 for sale by a member of the forum in the fore sale section. Apparently we're not allowed to comment on that thread. So for those of you who have been on Hobo and want to gush about it, here's a different thread.

It's an exceptionally well maintained boat in spite of the owner's pony tail. Wish him a quick sale and a haircut.

Ted

I have not been on the boat, nor have I met the owner. I can say that I have a few online role-models. The owner of Hobo is one because he has traveled the same route I seek to travel - Alaska to Florida, through the Panama Canal.

I can only surmise Hobo has been-there/done-that.

I have no dog in this fight, but if I did, Hobo would have my attention.

LarryM - I have a lot of miles under my keel, including most of the waters you've traveled. Still, you've been one of the inspirations for me. Thank you. For those who follow - you have big, but safe shoes to fill.

Perfect! And thank you for understanding.
I have not been aboard Hobo but have met Larry & Lena and read about their maritime accomplishments.
I have no doubt that who ever ends up with Hobo will appreciateciate the TLC.
I wish them good luck with the sale and the next step in their adventures.

I made the comment (now deleted) on his for sale listing that someone is going to get a very well maintained boat.

Forgot we weren’t supposed to make ANY comments on for sale listings.

I’ve been aboard Hobo and can attest that some lucky buyer is going to get a beautiful boat. Hate to hear that Larry and Lena are selling but hope that their next adventure, on or off the water, is a great one.

(And Larry: let that freak flag fly!)

I concur with the others! I have been aboard many times and its well sorted out. About as turn key as you can get ,properly maintained and upgraded.

How about merging the 2 threads? Much tidier, easy to access,no jumping between threads, etc....:whistling:

Not a chance!....I usually forget and post on someones for sale ad...And get my pee pee slapped. I was waiting for someone to fall into this trap....Mr Bill did,lol...OCdiver did the correct thing ,start a new thread so we don't distract from Larry and Lenas boat ad.

Yes, I did it. I was so excited about someone getting this awesome boat I lost all decorum. ?

Thanks for understanding and help spreading the word.
We (Mods) have been trying to make the classified section a better place for buying & selling by separating the discussions not prohibiting them. There is nothing wrong with a seller posting a link to a discussion thread - if they choose to. Or a member commenting on an ad to provide a link to the ad.

Im surprised HOBO is priced so low. There are hardly any KK's on the market right now. I have seen HOBO once at the dock. She is a fine vessel.

It’s a VERY good deal at this price. Well maintained and with a near new, barely broken in rebuild, and new fuel tanks. A bonus that the current owner is competent!

It was a real privilege to be briefly aboard Hobo and meet the well traveled and water savvy couple, Larry & Lena. Every so often, a rare & wonderful event occurs when something organic and something mechanical moves together. Such is the case for Hobo, Larry & Lena.

We would hope their passage here on TF continues, but it’s hard to imagine Hobo partnering with someone else. If it has to be, it should be with a sentimental slog like me, who would keep Hobo “Hobo” in honor of their voyage. Choke!

Thanks everyone for the kind words and support. :thumb: She's now under contract with a family who I know will keep her traveling and she won't be a dock queen. More later as I can.

And Ted, I'm thinking about losing the pony tail. NOT!

Is the pony tail covid-related, as in not wanting to get a haircut? Mine is.:thumb:

Larry and Lena are good friends. I have been fortunate enough to spend weeks at a time on Hobo, in British Columbia, Mexico, Panama, Bahamas etc. IMHO, this boat is a steal at that price. They are the people you want to buy a boat from, extremely competent, honest to a fault and meticulous. Whoever ends up with this boat, is one lucky family!!

Well, I’m embarrassed. Damn small print and I was looking for it in the listing.
Thanks!

No, I relic left over from his time at Max Yasgur's dairy farm.

Ted

Well it was 600 acres for the 500,000 attendees. I had not realized they ran a small hotel on the property. Still lots of pastures and cow drops I'd assume.
