    BUC boat values

Except there is no way to tell the real sales price. Dealer of XYZ boat brand may just report a different number of the sales price than what the real number just to keep the value on his brand up. Not unheard of.

Do you think it might be the "Dock Queen and Oxygen Tent" comments that might be the real reason for the fight?

    Mainship 34 electrical panel fire

This is not the time to buy used. Get it new and save burning the boat down to the waterline. Have a good electrician look it over and fix it correctly, the first time.

Saw One of These New hard Tops

Really? Did you look at the pictures of the Sequoia? I'm not saying that I love the look but I did look at the system. The cost of the original install is not bad and if it lasts more than five years without replacing any panels it beats the hell out of Sunbrella. It also has the...

    Bow Thruster vs Stern Thruster

Yes and they drive a standard shift, no A/C, no Power Steering or Power Brakes and an AM radio if they even have one. Right! I'm not opposed to practicing without them once and a while but if they are available, not to using them or seeing the value in them is a bit old fashioned or hard...

Energy Cost, Etc... Split from Annual Numbers

And when they get sick, have that baby or whatever without health insurance who is it you think pays for it? Or do you think like a friend of mine? He said that the hospital he works for has a $10 million budget set aside for such expenses. Of course he couldn't explain where the money that...

AC repair in Tampa Bay area

The A/C guy has to make money someplace. He can't do his own teak because he has to come and fix your boat. So how is he going to pay the Varnish guy to keep his teak up if he can't overcharge you?

How many here boat with dogs?

Interesting enough I drew that same conclusion but not until after I moved from FL. I had been raised in Eastern OH. So when I moved to Sarasota the folks there were a lot like the folks at home. The reason, I later realized was, almost everyone there is from OH and MI. On the East coast of...

    Humor

As we progress into the last part of 2012, I want to thank you for your educational e-mails over the past year. I am totally screwed up now and have little chance of recovery. I can no longer open a bathroom door without using a paper towel, nor let the waitress put lemon slices in my ice...

My boat is bigger than yours!

30,000 1975 pounds or 2001 pounds. A fiberglass boat built in 1970's of size X may well weigh over 30k pounds but that same boat built in 2001 would weigh a lot less. Engines and propulsion systems weigh way less for a lot more HP in 2001 than 1975. Hull thickness has gotten a lot thinner...

How many here boat with dogs?

I'm not too sure about that. We still have the German Shepherd in this country and in the rest of the world it is the Alsatian Shepherd, we have the German Wirehaired Pointer, German Shorthaired Pointer, German Pincher, Doberman Pincher, Lowchen, Standard and Giant Schnauzer and more. The...

American Eskimo Dog. Also known as an Eskie. They are of the Nordic Dog (Spitz like) family. They come in three different sizes a lot like Poodles, 9"to 12" Toy, over 12" up to and including 15" Miniatures and over 15 up to and including 19" Standard. But then again who knows?

    Good Supplier Bad Supplier

List mates, When a company does well it needs to be praised as I have in the past with several products and services everyone needs to know about. Unfortunately when a company does not perform or acts like they don’t care about customer service then everyone needs to know this as well. I...

    Fuel use computer advice

Looks like the sensors are $420 each and you need two for a single engine boat, the Flow monitor is $325 so that's $1,165 for the fuel system and then you need a monitor with NEMA 2000 capabilities. So I'm guessing that an E80 or newer Raymarine or 3010 or newer Garmin. Otherwise a new...

    Boeing Banter:Split from Inflatable Boats

It has officially changed for sure. This last time I was there they are now referring to Peking Duck as Beijing Duck. So you know it has changed names for sure. Hope they don't decide to change the name of Genoa. I won't be able to get the correct salami.

whats the diference between a motor yatch and a trawler

Reminds me of a Miami Boat show back in the 80's. The Cuban ladies would come onto the boat with 4" spikes and short shorts with a halter top. They would ask if they needed to take off their shoes and we would of course say no. So some clown comes aboard and gave me some grief about his shoes...

whats the diference between a motor yatch and a trawler

I think if you were to think about it he is being bit facetious. "Treating serious issues with deliberately inappropriate humor; flippant." You know it isn't a toy and he knows you know. If you like using the word toy so much why do you not refer to your boat as "an old toy cabin cruiser."?
