I was thinking about you and Patti yesterday. Congratulations! The boat looks great! That hull really sets it off.

Will be good to hear the answer. You could also run a 120 volt 14 awg from the outlet on the FB, down through the chase that opens into that cabinet through a small panel. That may be much easier than going up the cabinet. I would suggest protection for the wire where it enters into the cabinet...

It is a great idea. I DC hardwired my Peplink under the FB. The Starlink flat panel will plug into the Pepwave and I won’t use the SL router. What 120 volt outlet are you using in the pictures cabinet? Everything I have read states that the radar will impact the Starlink so the plan should...

It is great to work with people who are sincere and care about your experience receiving a boat! I did mean installing a 120 volt outlet inside the flybridge cabinet. Placement would be important, as will the type of outlet cover. This outlet could be considered “indoors” but will still...

Tom, you have the mobility feature. A home subscription is $110.

A question for 38e owners: where have you placed your fire extinguishers? I put one under the kitchen sink. I have two more. Can get more, but would like feedback from others.

Was getting ready to ask for an update on Alba Bella. Sounds like one week away and she will be in your hands! That is awesome to hear. I am really happy for you and Patti. I know it has been a long journey, with the Pandemic slowing things, and the mix up with our two boats. No real surprises...

I have had a couple of questions about using a Pepwave router on board. We have a BR1 5G, and it has worked well since receiving the boat. Yesterday I moved the router up under the flybridge cabinet. It sits on the flat shelf above other electrical gear with an unmanaged switch for wired...

Well, yesterday the name was applied so I guess we are official! We appreciate all the ideas and pictures of different styles for the script. We are very heppy with the way this turned out. It is easily legible, and fits with the color scheme. The name comes from both of our mothers’ names.

My engine room has a big hole

Yes, the ladder is on the starboard side.

My engine room has a big hole

I have been in and out of the engine room quite a bit in the past three weeks. The ladder is a real asset. It is removable, and can be placed out of the way, when I work down there. The gas struts placement is a non-issue. They don’t affect my access in the least. I think the arrangement works...

I have not thought about a wrap. Like the thought, but don’t think that I would do it.

I didn’t get to the Permanon this week. We will head back to the boat this week, with that being our goal for the week. This past week was a few punch list items, and completion of the autopilot install. Spending a few days on the boat was nice. We are getting used to where things are, and how...

Will do. We are in a covered slip and the temps will be fifties and sixties, so that will help!

That is good news. I think you will be really happy with it. Pics next week after detailing is completed.

This last week was electronics install in the ER and the Lower Helm, and punch list items. Next week is applying the Permanon ceramic coating. I will also finalize placement of the Pepwave, the Ethernet unswitched hub, and install the antenna and the SCX20 SatCom. I am waiting on a custom mount...

The placards are included as well as general required safety equipment. A bridle and snubber are not included. I bought a Mantus Bridle, and will have a snubber made for me by Rope Inc. though many folks just make their own snubber. I wanted a longer snubber than the one offered by Mantus. As...

    She Just Arrived

Congratulations! Bet you are having as much fun as we are with the new boat! I will be passing by you sometime this year on the way to Key West and further if the travel plans work out. Would be good to meet up!

We took the boat out today, to test the new electronics, fuel up the boat, and just run around the bay close to the marina. We ran through a wake of a fifty footer coming through at about 15 to 20 knots and the boat barely acknowledged the wave. The boat is easy to maneuver for docking, rides...

I am not sure yet. I won’t mount it quite yet. The plan is to try it in several places first while underway. The initial plan is the starboard side of the arch under the radar beam. Will install in March after some travel. We are in a covered slip until then.
