Taking delivery of my 38E in coming days -- pick your brains!

HtT, Looks like you got the RV version of the same chair we bought. Looks like the rice is the same, and the build, just one marketed to RVer's and the other as marine. They are super comfortable.

Ok, we got our Island Lounger and the two Ottoman's from Glastop Marine Furniture. They have worked very well for us, and fit the spaces. Here are the links. We ordered them in Ultra Leather Arctic white, which matches the settee color. https://www.glastop.com/marine-furniture-detail.asp?id=419...

I like it. That was a good move.

    Another new start for Helmsman

I am really glad to have mine on the transom. It works well at the home port, and if possible I always back in when under way. A 50 for cable takes care of a nose in for me. I had the guys position mine on the interior of the stern wall. Keeps some of the weather off of it and the cable...

Taking delivery of my 38E in coming days -- pick your brains!

Post a pic of the exterior when she arrives. I would like a look at the stripe. Really like them on the 43’s. 1) With the TV, low profile is important along with a low profile mount. We have a 36” screen that works for us, using a Firestick, connected to the boat network created by a Pepwave...

I like the set up on the flybridge. That looks really good.

    Our Helmsman 43E

We (“helmsman 43” on this site and I) installed a Furuno TZT 16 on both a 38e and a 43e on the lower helm. There isn’t any appreciable difference on the helm width or height between the two vessels. Here is a pic of the layout we installed on both boats. While the picture isn’t great, it can...

    Our Helmsman 43E

Do some measurements first. That will be really tight, and I don’t think you will have room for your AP and the Cummins Vessel View with two 12” monitors.

Congratulations on the order! You will enjoy the build process.

I found these on the sbmar.com site. Pics from the site are attached. The link shows a variety of Cummins engine zincs, with the QSB 6.7 at the bottom. It appears to me that there are 5 zincs. Two are listed as 1/2” (thread?) on the aftercooler. One is 3/8” thread on the gear oil and two 3/8”...

    Helmsman 38E Build Hull 61

It is a relevant concern for you. I don’t think I would take that mirror off either. What about attaching a curved towel holder on the front wall of the sink?

    Helmsman 38E Build Hull 61

HTT, I looked for that in our build pictures to try to get you an answer, but never saw a photo that would show that area. I know that you have been looking for an answer for quite some time. I think the best possible course of action for you would be to give Helmsman a call and ask them. Or...

    Helmsman Trawlers in the Wild

I absolutely love the 43’s. A good friend of mine has allowed me to spend time on one. The storage on them is off the chain. My wife looks at me sideways every time I bring them up! 😀

    Another new start for Helmsman

I use the SeaFlush for the engine for winterization and also used it for a Barnacle Buster treatment on the Carver I used to own. Salt Away could be delivered in the same way. It is also handy if you are leaving your boat for a couple of weeks and want to deliver fresh water through it prior to...

    Helmsman 38E Build Hull 61

On our 38E, there is a cabinet facing forward with two doors and a shelf. I will be at the boat tomorrow, and if I get a chance will take a picture of the cabinet, unless one of the folks reading this set of posts that is on their boat posts one.

Edit to Add: Sorry Patti! I didn’t see you had already responded above. it is the box formed by the drawer that opens at the front of the cabinet that the seat is on. (Behind your calves when you are sitting on the pilot seat.) It is great storage for “stuff” you want in the pilot house but...

    Rear view camera

I have a Pepwave BR1 Pro 5G router. https://onboardwireless.com/Pepwave-MAX-BR1-Pro-5G-Router_p_34.html Last year, I used a Starlink flat panel, home port WiFi, and marina WiFi’s . This year I have added a T Mobile Sim which is $50 a month with unlimited GB’s and have retired the Starlink...

    Rear view camera

We use Wyze cameras, wirelessly tied into our boat network. They have worked very well for us. The camera inside is used as a security camera, though it also offers a view out under way. I pay the roughly $30 a year for alerts on that one. The other two Wyze cameras are battery powered and used...

    Worth the wait!

I liked the part about thinking your hubby was just a bad driver! I agree on all your points. I ordered my electronics through BOE and they are great to deal with. Scott and Van are both quality folks. As busy as they are, they never fail to follow up when we have had questions. Great folks...

    Another new start for Helmsman

I didn’t choose to get the Reverso. My desire to have one less system to maintain overrode my desire for an “easy” fluids change. I have a johnson oil pump which I attach to a five gallon bucket. Works quickly and well for me. When I change the oil, I place a small oil catch basin on top of a...

    Another new start for Helmsman

Thank you. Yours should be here just in time for the summer. There will be a lot of interest in your boat for sure. It seems everywhere we take ours, people want to look. I would imagine that you will experience that on steroids. We are really excited for you!
