    Friends say I'm an idiot

Agree. Chula is not worth the couple bucks you save every month slipping there. They have also had a boat break in problems, I hear. Pick up a slip along Harbor drive.

    What type of hull?

Avoid that boat at all costs. There is a very good reason you can buy the bayliners so cheap. Bayliner uses the cheapest of the cheapest on every system. Interior and exterior. The newer the boat, the worst they are.:whistling:

    What type of hull?

60K budget for a 40' plus trawler type boat. Get ready to be disappointed. JMO.

    Boat Towing - Ranger 31

    The Craigslist Vexation....

Great story. Question, how well does your IP do under sail, or is she more of a motor sailer? Been looking at that IP model for years. IP makes a fantastic Yacht.

    40' to 50' Trawler

    running gen while moving

Put a diver on it. Easy fix if they are painted over. Crazy to haul the boat out for that alone.

I no that boat will not cruise at 13kts :) and its not a planing hull. Its a displacement. She would probably plane at 35knts:eek:

1988 PT 38' Motor Yacht Power Boat For Sale - www.yachtworld.com I think Pineapple Girl is close buy as well. Not sure on the price though. We looked at an 1986 PT 38 last summer for 62k. Original owner as well and very clean. We are paying cash for a boat so I was not quite there at that time...

Baggiolina. How did this trip down South work out for you? I may be looking at a PT 36 in Alameda, then I would need to get the boat back to my home town San Diego harbor.

    Changing boat name.

FlyWright. I just printed all of your script. Good stuff. May the Gods of the Sea take favor on us all. We're sad to report that Baja Ha-Ha vet Jan Anderson, 59, of the formerly Sausalito-based Island Packet 380 Triple Stars was washed overboard on Friday afternoon about 185 miles northwest of...

Twin engines easier around the dock in a blow?

The Wife and I are on the hunt for our first LRC boat. These boats appear to have a lot of sail area. With the wind blowing, dock a 40' plus boat with a single would seem to be a bit of a challenge. We are looking at a*LRC boat, single*200hp perk with a BOW THRUSTER...

Any one on board herd of overseas trawlers??

*Please let us no how your trip goes. Have fun, be safe. The boat we can afford. The cost to slip per ft in San Diego is crazy. We are on a 9 year waiting list for a mooring ball in Americas cup harbor.

    Blue Water Boat Ride ???

WOW !!! Marin. Great read. Thanks. You see a lot of dependable diesel cruisers out among the channel Islands. I would say knowing your cruising grounds and local weather is key. Honestly, I thought this boats were very blue water capable, but like you said they really are not a commercial...

    Blue Water Boat Ride ???

Thanks for all that great info as well Marin. Thats why my heart is set on a trawler. I will be in no*hurry to get anywhere. Yes, Pacific will be my play ground. Channel Islands.
