    What's That Red Button

I have Perkins 6 354.4. On my panel there are 3 identical push buttons.Start Stop and third one is for the 'Flamethrower',a cold start device thats in the intake manifold. No glow plugs. If yours is a light and not a push button then I have no idea.

Prop shaft coupling using a rubber hose and two clamps?

Not trying to start argument but if you have electrolysis aboard a boat (most do ) then the zinc between tranny coupling and stuffing box may not be secure.Still think the rubber hose thing is a great idea.Do not come down too hard on me Sunchaser. LOL

Prop shaft coupling using a rubber hose and two clamps?

I think this contraption is great idea.I have seen it before. If going astern and your shaft lets go from tranny coupling this will save your prop and rudder. This previous owner was thinking the right things.

    cummins 210 injection pump

Couple days ago a fellow fisherman steams 7 hours to home port to unload crab catch.Shuts down down engine to unload as usual and the engine will not restart.Seems like injection pump is gone.Lift pump is good ,fuel solenoid is good.4 grand for a rebuilt injection pump.It seems excessive to me.

    Bilge Pumps

Like rwidman said ,Check your pumps.Over the years I have seen many Rul- pumps (1500-2000-3700) fail with electrolysis at the stainless motor shaft and the impeller. Check your impeller shaft.Believe me, they can eat away.

    impeller removal

Its like psneeld said all depends on your setup.I have dry exhaust Perkins 63544 and the coolant pump on engine takes care off the keel cooler. If I had wet exhaust then I would need raw water pump.

    impeller removal

If you have space then 2 screwdrivers will usually get the impeller.Put electrical tape or piece old fuel line on screwdrivers where it makes contact with pump housing.I have seen a fellow use a heat gun on a stubborn one (the brass bushing will expand before the shaft). On older engines usually...

Air in Fuel Delivery Lines or Bad Lift Pump?

Air in Fuel Delivery Lines or Bad Lift Pump?

I would think your lift pump is gone.Your tanks are low so you might have been running on gravity flow before .Just a thought.Best of luck pin pointing the problem.
