    Renting A Nimble Nomad

Read his post! On 8/5 and said it would be over a week before he even started. So, unless he went for only a few days, he's still out there, and, hopefully having fun! Give the man some time.

    tidal currents

Ports and Passes for printed, and Coastal Explorer for software. I think you mean Princess Louisa Inlet. And there is nothing on Malibu Rapids (that I've ever seen), although slacks there can be calculated based on Pt. Atkinson times. If I remember correctly, high water slack at Malibu Rapids...

Yes, but his subject line says it won't crank, so confusion is understandable.

    Best quality/workmanship build trawler

Really? Not even the DeFever? I think you'd get an argument from many that have ventured out that way (or anybody that's experienced any semi-rough, offshore conditions for that matter), including me. Curious, other than the Defender, are there any other boats (under 55') that you think could...

    Verizon users in BC

You will not have an AT&T, Verizon, nor any other U.S. company's signals in Canada. You will get a Rogers, Telus or Bell signal (those are the only ones I've seen). You can contact Verizon or AT&T and get their Canada roaming package which greatly reduces the cost of making calls, but it...

    Chesapeake Anchor Holding Power Test

Brian, I hope you do understand that there is no way you can satisfy this crowd. Even if you did 100,000 tests with every imaginable variable thought of, many would still not be satisfied and attempt to pick the methods and results apart. If I were you, I would forget trying to defend, justify...

    2017 35th America's Cup Protocol Released

No restrictions in the past (that I've ever heard of). They're trying to get the AC more commercialized worldwide and they need more countries and competitors in order to do it. Therefore, they need to get the costs down. One boat programs are the best way to do it.

    2017 35th America's Cup Protocol Released

As mentioned, it's about the costs. If 2 boats are allowed, the costs rise quite a bit and the syndicates that can afford it will build 2, leaving the less sponsored teams with only 1 boat and not much of a chance to win (in theory). If they don't think they have a chance, entries will be down...

    2017 35th America's Cup Protocol Released

One boat only for the challengers to keep the costs down. Lower costs equals more teams. We'll see, Two boats for Oracle because they won't have anybody else to test against. Challengers can, and will, test against each other. Oracle will race against some of the other boats in the World...

Do you stern tie singlehanded? I've got some questions for you...

I stern tie solo every time if there's little wind and current. The admiral just watches as it's pretty easy. If there's current or a lot of wind, I keep her on the controls if needed, and that's been only once. Another Grace Harbor photo. About 150' to the tree for a total of about 300'.
