The best live performance I've ever seen. It's been told that Mick Jagger said that deciding to follow James Brown's performance at the TAMI show was the biggest mistake he ever made concert wise.

Kayaks as dinghy....foot pedal vs paddling ?

Eric, I have no idea what you're hearing, but your surely not reading all of the posts. If you read all of the posts and not just one or two, you'll see the many reasons that many think they're better. It's not just speed! And, you're the only one that said "it's cuter and cooler". Nobody else...

Kayaks as dinghy....foot pedal vs paddling ?

Sorry, but the fins are not flexible. The trailing edge is, but the leading edge has a stainless steel rod in that can be bent if something is hit. As for going ashore, you can remove the Mirage Drives as you stated, but it's easier to simply put one pedal forward. When you do that, the fins...

    Offshore built boats?

They are built at the Tung Hwa shipyard in Taiwan. The same yard that builds Flemings. And, for what it's worth, Tony Fleming has complimented mine and says they're extremely well built boats also. After having mine for 5 years, I wouldn't have any other.

    PNW GoPro Time Lapse

I've been waiting for someone to ask that. It's on autopilot. And, while I know it can be adjusted to hold a more steady course (rudder gain if I remember correctly), I really have no reason to do so in the PNW. Besides, in this case, if it ain't broke, I ain't gonna fix it!

Speed is typically 8-10 knots in these videos. And, 1/2 second interval really helps tone the chop down, but can still be somewhat annoying when it reaches a certain level. By the way, I switched to all 1/2 second intervals after this video, except for 1 segment crossing the Straight of...

Darren, No problem sharing them on your Facebook page. As far as them being long, I figured that a lot of people would do just as you did - watch the beginning and end, and buzz through the middle, though I personally like to watch the entire video. Spy, Yes, the Pacific Yellowfin is quite a...

    PNW GoPro Time Lapse

Yes, every 1/2 second. Early on, I experimented with every 10, 5, 2 & 1 seconds and they're generally fine (except 10 & 5 in rougher water), but 1/2 is better and doesn't take up that much memory. At some point, I'll post some of those longer interval videos as well, and you'll be able to see...

GoPro Hero4 Silver. Exposure every .5 seconds. Makes them a little long but much smoother. It took about 3 hours actual travel time. I have a lot more and plan to post more now that I know some people like them, but they take a long time to upload and I may wait until I get home, where I have a...

Gorge Harbour to Prideaux Haven I make a lot of videos when I'm cruising, but I don't think any of them would interest anyone here so I don't share them. However, I've recently started time lapsing my cruises. I know that I've always been intrigued with almost any time lapse video I've ever...

Need advice for first longer cruise.

If you want to at least get through Dodd Narrows, and Nanaimo is iffy for space, you can always use Percy Anchorage. After you clear Dodd, it's less than a mile to the east. You'll not have to worry about Nanaimo, and you'll be in position to cross the next morning.

Why Aren't Semidisplacement Hulls Considered True Ocean Going Boats?

Not true, at least not on the west coast when entering ports. Leaving ports - different story, in which case they're already docked or anchored.

Why Aren't Semidisplacement Hulls Considered True Ocean Going Boats?

They take on the pilots long before they enter ports and therefore probably long before you ever see them. And, at much faster speeds than you think (or could possibly paddle).

    ASD and the Inside Passage

I've never heard of that. I've been many times, including a couple of times in August and it's always been roaring like crazy. This year I won't be able to make it until September or early October, and I'll go whether the falls are roaring or not, as it's so beautiful there, but I'm curious -...
