    Unique refrigerator

I had a look at the Wynter products and although they look very similar the power consumption ratings are much different. The Unique was rated at an average 2.7Ah and the Wynter says 5+ (can’t remembers the exact #). This may be just a play on words (average vs Max?). Just curious if anyone has...

    Vaccination passports

Not opposed to something like this at all however how will having a vaccine passport open the boarders faster. From what I have read the vaccine will protect you from getting sick but you can still be a vector and spread to those who don’t have a shot. I’m probably missing something but that’s...

    Side Power Bow Thruster Corrosion

Yea I was wondering about spraying metal on as well. Next time it’s out of the water I will take it to get x-ray to see if the corrosion goes deep, then take it from there. Having a new shaft machined may be the simplest in the end though. Thanks for the responses guys, I always appreciate a...

    Side Power Bow Thruster Corrosion

Thanks for the info, the unit is 2007 and I’m not sure why the corrosion happened. Possibly the PO was neglecting the thrusters, and yes apparently the corrosion is outside of the seals as there is no oil leaks now. I will keep an eye out for options and hopefully this won’t get worse. Rob

    Side Power Bow Thruster Corrosion

Hey everyone I have a Side Power SP 95 Ti and recently had the lower shaft pulled to replace the oil seal. The mechanics found corrosion on the shaft very close to the seal. They replaced the seal which stopped the small oil leak I had but I’m worried about the shaft. Apparently side Power...

    SCUBA compressor solution?

A buddy of mine has his HP compressor running with a hydraulic motor which runs through a PTO from the main engine. Ores well for him although a bit of a chore to set up if I remember.

Tallboy Bomb Explodes In Ship Canal

They would have used an energetic tool which uses a shape charge to cut through the outer skin. Then as the charge penetrates the idea is that it will start the high explosive inside to burn. Sometimes and likely in this case the energetic charge can have a magnesium disc to aid in starting the...

    Unique refrigerator

Thanks for the update, I am looking at getting a portable fridge/freezer for next summer and these ones are at the front of the list so far. The fact that they are sold by Costco helps with the decision as well. Just need to figure out if we need both fridge/freezer combos or just a freezer...

    What is this?

Thanks everyone, had a look in the liquor cabinet and took the back panel off which will give me access to the space. Don’t think I will do anything with it however as it’s difficult access and not sure the effort would be worth the gain. At least I know what it was intended for though so...

    What is this?

Yes it’s on the port side aft of the engine, so if this is where the AC would be how or where is the access to that space? Must be under the carpet in the salon I’m guessing. Thanks Rob

    What is this?

Hey everyone Looking for a bit of help identifying this possible tank in my 2007 34T. I have the single engine and no generator so I’m assuming this is used with another model. Wondering if I could use it for water and where the access would be for it. Thanks Rob

    Holding tank vent smell

So, I am currently on the boat and have had no issues since I flushed and blew the line clear with air after. Obviously I had a partial blockage and not enough air was getting through the vent. Now we are 8 days on the boat and no odor. Thanks everyone for your tips, that’s why I love this...

    Hollywood (Navy) shower

Thanks, I didn’t know the origin of the word but have been using it for over 32 years now ? yes your right it can be a bit of an insult but I often use it more as a compliment as well, it’s all about context I suppose. Thanks for this though, I will try to remember next time we are chucking ****...

    Hollywood (Navy) shower

Thanks for your service! I’m currently serving and typically we call them “Pusser Showers” the word pusser meaning proper and to regulation (or close to that). Onboard Sounder that’s all we take, 70 gal freshwater does not go very far if you abuse it. Wish I could have bigger water tanks but I...

    Holding tank vent smell

Yes that is the plan eventually, I’m just curious about your exact location. I don’t have AC plumbed and the anchor drain area seems too low on the hull. I’m worried that during rough weather water will be forced into the vent line and fill up the tank. One option might be to have the vent hose...

    Holding tank vent smell

Ok so went down to the boat today and pulled the vent line off the tank and a puff of air came out! Obviously there must have been a partial blockage. I flushed the line and blew it out with LP air, now the airflow is unrestricted. The path that the vent line takes is not ideal and too long. It...
