The Fuel Tank Cap from Hell

Tried to tighten the fill cap and damn thing came apart. Appear to be held with a weak spot weld. Went to two Westmarines and Beacon Marine. Could not find a replacement. Anyone recognize the brand? Boat built in 90's. Threads don't match anything on the shelves.

    What brand is this head?

Came with the boat. It's fully manual, no electric. No logos. If I can ID it, I can get the manual perhaps and learn how to work it. Has what couldn't be more than a 5 gallon holding tank and a pump out fitting on the deck. A couple of thru hulls with shut offs. A hand pump and I little finger...

oh no! have to drill into my roof

If you unscrew the cap piece from the base, inside the base there's an oblong hole and a #16 wire threaded through and neatly terminated. So I am supposed to paint my signboards flat black?

oh no! have to drill into my roof

first pic is port light, second pic is odd, PO put this wood block wire hole along with a 16# deadended to it. Then a cap piece screwed down to water seal it. Not sure what this gives you.

oh no! have to drill into my roof

Those will work for my antenna cables, thank you, but the running lights may not have the space. Am I stuck with using 4200?

oh no! have to drill into my roof

I don't believe in making holes in my boat. Overall seems like a bad idea. But I have to run antenna cables into the wheelhouse. Also have running light wires to seal up. PO had some version of 5200 glopped around the wire hole. There must be a better way. Wood roof. Suggestions? Thanks in...

My Hatteras 60' pictured in my profile avatar is for sale. Purchased new in 2018. First million takes her. Needs new dock lines.

Whew. I took half the boat apart yesterday and spent all day on my back routing the wires.

    Old ideal windlass testing

Now I am 100% confused. I interpret C lectric's schematic as showing the solenoid jumping the + #2 wire. The #16 wired to theswitch also looks tied to the + with a negative grounded back to the windlass. the only other negative wires are the #2 wire from the battery post to the windlass itself...

not quite following you. I should modify C lectric's plan?

I am using C lectric's schematic though I am telling everyone I made it. Jk

more questions, -I've got #2 wire for the high current, what size for the lower current circuits like the foot switch and small side of the solenoid? -The motor is 45-50 amps with 65 amp surge, for a 50' circuit, ABYC says a #6 wire is big enough. That seems small? I was thinking #2. Thoughts...

    VHF cable connector

The vids all seem to show soldering. I have a new antenna also. Guess I have to learn to solder. I also have to figure out why there's an L in "solder".
