    Greenline DDI display upgrade

Welcome Ken, There's lots to play with on this boat. Certainly enough electrical to keep you busy. Easiest way of determining if your panels are correctly wired (and mine weren't) is to check the open cct voltage. If it's in the 60s it's wired (incorrectly) as 3 strings of 2. If it's in the 90's...

Cost of Replacement Battery Pack 2011 GL33??

Ken, From the VW point of view you'll love the oil and filter change. That couldn't be easier. From a remote management perspective most of this is standard apart from the MPPT, a Pi running VenusOS large instead of a CerboGX and the appropriate Victron cables. The only downside is that the...

Info for others, Lars GL33 was a Oct2011 build, Sun Chi is a Nov2011 build. @Lars, just heard back from Andraz at aftersales overnight RE my question about inverters. 'The biggest inverter that was put on the GL33 was48/5000/70-100.' This is perfect as that's what I want to put in as my...

@ScottC @PeterB40 I have been spending more time with the rasberrypi version of the CerboxGX (large install which includes signalk and nodered) collecting information from these via USB and in the Multiplus case using the MK3 cable. Multiplus 48/3000/35-16 MPPT 150/35 BMV602S (I've also...

Canbus reverse engineering. I know that the communication from the HCU is using canbus and it goes to the DDI and that DB9 connector. Has anyone ever tried reverse engineering the canbus output? I'd love to be able to see things like power on/off, rpm, temp etc.

    '14 33-Hybrid Victron Quattro Failure

Pete, Dumb question. It's not this is it? It may have tripped and not be visible? At least it's easier to get to than the bilge.

The answer is yes absolutely, a custom configuration sounds like the way to go. https://community.victronenergy.com/storage/attachments/3299-virtual-switch-ignore-ac-lesson.pdf The virtual switch setting we currently have is the default. Unknown is if Greenline configured the other end of the...

Multiplus firmware Worked with a Victron guy here in France we have upgraded the firmware on the Multiplus from v13 to v159. This has kept the configuration the same with the Virtual Switch as opposed to the Virtual Assistants that would be available in v209 which the last version available. I...

Not a HCU problem but _very_ concerning. [SpoilerAlert]When we first got the boat and came back after a winter the bowthruster battery had dropped a cell so it was only about 9.5 volts. Leaving the dock initially under electric the motor stopped. Thinking, that's ok I'll use diesel. That didn't...

Hi Peter, To be clear, my HCU is working, just not optimally. On diesel, it should continue to charge the battery up until 53.6v. It's actually going into 'N' mode (bypass) at 52.25v which is only 84% battery. From there I need to use solar or shore power to get to 100% Re your issue, how does...

Thanks Scott. I got an email back from aftersales that says in part ... === After thorough examination and consultation with our suppliers, we regret to inform you that, at present, we do not have the capability to repair or replace the HCU. Solar to assist shore power with aircon. Try this. Setup: Leave multiplus completely untouched. Create a custom profile for the MPPT using the app. For me the 'summer' profile is Absorption voltage = 54.25, Float = 54.23, everything else is default but we can document that later. Time 1241...

You should be able to download the file from here and then zoom in. https://github.com/mdcaddic/greenline33/blob/main/Generator%20-%20Charging.png On that day we were on the Rhine from Breisach to Kembs. Yes electric _in_ the locks but out there on the Rhine, diesel between the locks. Today we...

Multiplus configuration @ScottC For some reason I assume(d) you have access to the vrm portal. If you do then you can look at the devices and then download the configuration of the multi. Then open the downloaded config file in VEConfigure (which you will need to download and install) and then...

You get a Low AC error on the AirCon panel right? I get that too. I was using a similar work around of limiting the current so that the inverter would assist and keep the AC clean and high enough and rely on the cycling of the compressor to charge the battery in between, however in the last week...

Interesting. It shows that with your panels both string options are doable. Also that you should have been able to get away with a 150/35. When you look at the history, what's the highest Pmax that you see? Is it near 100% of the rated capacity on any of the days? My best in the last 8 days...

@scott, definitely worth the time invested. I now have 2 strings of 3. Open circuit voltage is ~93v each. Patchy clouds and in between I've already seen a top of 1019w. I'll let you know longer term but suffice to say if your open circuit voltage is about 60-70v then you have 3 x strings of 2...

Solar layout Ok. I think I'm definitely on to something. I've split the wiring where the three strings are joined so that I can look at the output from each string individually. I still wasn't seeing what I thought I should and even went as far as getting a quote. Not from the factory, turns...

Removing solar panels on Greenline 39?

Window shade See links from Amazon for a 10m roll of the same stuff your car windscreen shade is made from + the suction cups. 10m was enough for the entire boat which we did just before winter last year. Foam Insulation From memory it was a building supply store in Izola and we paid (not much) for a pack of 10 x 30mm x 1000mm polystyrene foam panels that were pretty hard to balance on the bicycle going home. Cut holes as appropriate to make room for the wiring for the lights and use masking...
