    South American circumnavigation

For a small motor vessel, (up to 55'), only the inside passage is recommendable. Even so, weather forecasts are always far from being accurate. The months between December and March are the best ones to make this inside passage. Thank capacity is a must. I don't know any positive feedback...

    Experiences with Copper Coat?

I have read in a British sail forum that climate is essential for a good performance of the Coppercoat. The weather needed is exactly what I have home. Sunny, temperatures always above 80 and humidity around 60-70. The job, well, I would be doing myself with the dealer connected via Sype 10...

A Set Back on a Dream

" An idea is like a virus, resilient, highly contagious. The smallest seed of an idea can grow. It can grow to define or destroy you." Inception, 2010" A fellow trawler owner wanted to show the world what is going on with the Antarctic environment. The Weather came hard on...

    Interesting boats

Romsdale I always thought that Romsdales are the most elegant and beautiful live-aboard exploring vessels on the face of the Earth! When I was looking for projects to build a boat, I tried to find DIY projects similar. I could never find them! Later on, when Rainha Jannota was already framed, I...

    Experiences with Copper Coat?

Thank you Darren Here, putting things in perspective, if it lasts 3 years will be more economical than any other paint. Micron Premium or Micron 66 are nearly as costly as Coppercoat. The only thing is that everybody knows how to apply those Antifouling products. With Coppercoat is different...

    Experiences with Copper Coat?

Thank you Gurus. Hauling here is expensive. There are also few places where I could do it. For a cheap process, I will have to take the boat to a proper place and use moon tides to do the job. Micron 66 is expensive and not very efficient in warm coastal waters. AT least here. Only the Micron...

    Painting the bottom!

Hellos Folks Time to paint the hull of Rainha Jannota. This is going to be the first re-paint job. The original was done with the cheapest anti fouling I could get as the budget was dimmed. This new job, after cleaning and sanding the hull lightly, will consist of two hands of Triton Primer and...

    What's your cruising speed.

Rainha Jannota does 7.3 knts @ 2000 RPM burning 3.3 GPH. @ 1800RPM, our favorite, she does 6.6 knts burning 2.35 GPH. Not bad for a floating 2 bedroom house with 360 degrees ocean view.

    Projects during rainy season

Phill I am burning my last days as a registered employee. I may get back eventually as a consultant at the end of Q1/2016.
