Larger/older vs. smaller/new for the same price

I have seen plenty new boats with plenty of problems. My Albula is a 60 foot boat, launched in 1997 in the Outer Banks and is a dream come true. I would go with older and bigger rather than smaller and newer.

    Boat NEEDED

Jeri and Jim, Have you all found your boat yet? Albula looks like a boat built for Louisiana ;-)

    Interesting boats

Donsan / Guru, Are you still on this site? Someone told me about your post about Albula, so I thought I would touch base with you since I am the owner of her. I bought her after those pictures were taken as these do not show the modifications made. A 3 foot swim platform was added to her hull...

Jeremy, can you provide pictures or a web site to go to to see a simple rolling hitch? Thanks

    Boat Shopping, Bayliner 4788?

SeeVee, I have been considering selling my boat due to health issues. Not sure she appeals to you but would be happy discuss it with you. She is one beautiful boat. Drafts only three foot and is a perfect boat for the type of waters your talking about.

    Hello from Montreal

Welcome Joe, I am pretty new to this site as well. I looked at Mainships for well over two years but could never get myself to commit to one. One problem I had was going with a single engine or twin engine. I read so many articles on the benefits of twin, but then so many articles arguing how...

I'm not familiar with the “Interesting Boats” thread so not sure if it was or not. When would that have been? I just signed up on the Site today.

    Hello from Wimauma, FL

I looked at Riviera Dunes when I was hunting for a slip to move her to. I do love Twin Dolphin Marina. I like the wall around it because it limits the effects of other boats going by and the current. That is what I liked about Riviera Dunes as well. Very well protected. Do you get out on the...

    Hello from Wimauma, FL

Albula's construction is Cold Molded. Hull is double layered 3/4 inch marine ply, epoxied, fiber glassed inside and out. Rest of the boat is double layered 1/2 inch marine ply same. Albula is all painted with Awl Grip.

    Hello from Wimauma, FL

I added a few photos to an album named Albula. I believe if you go to my profile, you will be able to open that album. If you could be so kind as to let me know if you were able to open it, I would appreciate it. Trying to figure this all out. Thank you

    Hello from Wimauma, FL

She definitely gets into places most others don't dare to venture into. She was designed to be a Flats fisherman's mother-ship. Her name, Albula, is the genus name for the Bone Fish

How do I upload a picture of my boat to my profile? I have tried several times, but it keeps telling me that the upload failed. Any advice?

    Hello from Wimauma, FL

Hello everyone. I am happy to have found this Trawler Forum as I am sure we all have at least one major thing in common. I look forward to exploring the site and interacting with many of you. I entered the Trawler world in June 2018 when I bought Albula in Ft Myers, FL. Soon thereafter, I...
