"Voyaging under power" is a good one too, especially if you can find a 1st edition used.

    Used Parts and Hurricane Sandy

Seems like if they were cheaply made, they would break more often and the market for replacement parts would be up.

    Medical Emergency While Cruising

Agreed short term. So what happens if a boat is anchored and left for a year or more, but the owner doesn't declare it abandoned? What about if it's afloat and washes up somewhere?

    Medical Emergency While Cruising

If there's nobody on board, it's abandoned. I think that would make it subject to salvage.

Leaking fuel tank-34 MT DC W/ 250 Cummins

Yes, pretty much up to the top. I'd post pix but I'm on a work computer now. They are here somewhere in an old thread. The guy that does it around here has done countless fuel tanks like this, as did his dad. The key of course is getting the tank perfectly clean. He gets everything out, cleans...

Leaking fuel tank-34 MT DC W/ 250 Cummins

I had one of my tanks fixed in a similar way. Only difference was that we used an aircraft fuel tank sealer on the inside. Been fine for 8 years or so now. I figure if it's good enough for the FAA, it's good enough for my boat.

    Potomac River to DC

It would be helpful if you guys posted those marina comments over on www.activecaptain.com, if you haven't already.

    Medical Emergency While Cruising

Tow companies are really incentivized to call things a salvage any time they can...they get paid much more. Boat/US has a form on their site that everybody should carry that sets out the conditions of the tow, but in an emergency I guess anything goes.

    Boracol

Their MSDS' are on the site. Looks like another main ingredient (I only looked at one) is a glycol. Think anti-freeze.

    Direct TV or Dish Network

So what "local" channel would you want, if you were not in range of any? You'd have to be pretty remote.

    Wiper Motor Questions

As long as the shaft is long enough to go through the bulkhead! Because of the way my Krogen windows are built, I had to get the longest ones made, and put a wooden block outside so the arms would clear the exterior window frames.

    Direct TV or Dish Network

I've never understood the big deal about local channels. Just switch over to a regular TV antenna. Rabbit ears or a marine omnidirectional.

    The 787 vs. ignorance

Of course. Everybody is ignorant and irrelevant except you, Marin. Or maybe it IS you that's the problem. Anyway, the fleet is still grounded. Fact.

    Wiper Motor Questions

The wipers on my boat use the old style slide in refills, which appear to be an endangered species. I'll either have to change styles, buy complete new blade assemblies, or find some refills on the Internet.

    Anyone work with Weblon?

Don't sew if you don't have to. It'll just perforate the material and weaken it as well as introduce holes. If you can cut with a hot knife, it would be better, as it will help seal the edges. The only weak spot is that the fibers will wick water inside the laminate. See if the mfg. has some...

    Why Crossed Stern Lines ?

You get more stretch with the longer lines and thus better shock absorbing characteristics, among things mentioned earlier.
