    Swift Trawler 44 Sun-bed cushions

I had one custom made back in 2013. Sorry I did because we almost never use it and it a pain to store, which we do, along with our other cushions, on the 2nd cabin bed. I may be able to look up the price. I'll sell you mine if you're ever in SW Florida.

Fixed Fire Extinguisher for Engine Room?

I do not think there are switches or plugs but I’ll double check. I’m certain there is no control panel. By the way, a cautionary tip I received at the 2012 Trawlerfest, which Steve D mentioned in his video, both tanks had pins still installed, which I removed.

Fixed Fire Extinguisher for Engine Room?

Thanks to all who has offered advice on this topic, especially Steve D for the great educational videos. Here is my question: I believe that our 2012 Beneteau Swift 44 complies with ABYC standards, but maybe I’m wrong. We do have 2 fixed fire extinguishers in the ER, with pull cables and temp...

    Key west

In Marco, Smokehouse Bay is still a fine anchorage. Esplanade Marina is there too and has everything there, or near by walk. No fuel.

Lubing Stuffing Box / shaft seals?

I just asked my mechanic about this. He said that because they are fully water-lubed he would not mess with them. He has never heard of adding grease. I must say, 7 years in with no added lube and no problems. Knocking on wood.

    Selling my Swift 44

Did u ever sell her? My sense is that they're holding value fairly well. What is your experience? Thanks.

    ST44 cockpit bench

Waterproof bins is how we handle this. Huge waterproof storage under the cockpit is good for the bigger stuff.

    Holding Tank Treatments

New boat in 2012. Have used only Odorless product. Never had an issue.

Lubing Stuffing Box / shaft seals?

I have read about adding some grease to the rubbers seals where the drive shafts exit the stern. Has anyone actually done this on their Swift? All I've ever done is to try and burp the air out (by squeezing) after periods of non-use. After 6 years still no trouble. I don't want to mess up a...

    Channel 13 for Passing

Can be confusing for sure. Here is how i keep the whistle signals straight: VITAL PRINCIPLE: The signals are "self-centered", by this I mean that whoever initiates the signal is whose port or starboard is the subject. For example, when I intend to overtake a vessel and give 2 blasts, meaning...

    A/C Maintenance

I think the loud buzzing from the pump may be due to:1) clogged hose or 2) anti-freeze fouling up the switch. I’ve only heard this buzzing from the Refco’s, never from the Maxi Orange pumps.

    A/C Maintenance

Had the same issue with the one in the master so I had an A/C service vendor relocate the drain out toward the stern.

    A/C Maintenance

I've had issues with with the condensate pumps and drain lines on the 4 A/C units on my 2012 ST44. Here are my comments: 1) Keep these lines clean by adding a water/bleach solution to the pan every 6 (?) months. 2) Plugged lines can be blown out with a simple bike pump w/ nozzle. 3) I've had...

Beneteau ST 44 potential sea water intrusion

I understand that the ports are for a temperature sensor. Local Volvo mechanic came to install these for me but, since the plug configuration didn't match he was unable to install them. Anyway, I'm hoping that the new design of the risers was initiated because of turbo problems, like mine. So...

    Beneteau Swift Trawler 44

Huge fly bridge, especially with no dinghy. Room for kayaks either way. Washer/dryer option in 2nd stateroom, instead of hanging closet. Yes, under ideal conditions I’ve had her up to 26 knots!

    Beneteau Swift Trawler 44

I have heard that Beneteau pays it's dealers $65 / hr. for warranty work. If this is true I guess you cannot expect a class A mechanic at that rate.

    Teak Caulk

With 95% of my original caulk intact, I assume that any missing / loose caulk will allow water intrusion, leading to trouble- like failure of the teak adhesion with the deck. Right?

Looks like TDS is where I'll go on this. Thanks to all of you for your help. There are so many knowledgeable folks on TrawlerForum!

    Cleaning New Bottom Paint

We just had new bottom paint applied, which seems necessary every 2 years. The yard applied Pettit Trinidad Pro, #1088. Question: How soon should my diver resume the monthly cleaning? Thank you.

    Beneteau Swift Trawler 44

No clue on the water lines as I don’t winterize any more. BTW, since you have your fly seats removed be sure to tighten all screws on the bottom of the seats. Mine were very loose. Also, good time to lube or wax the mechanisms there, too.

Beneteau ST 44 potential sea water intrusion

Really?! Mine is just a plug, no sensor wire. Maybe I'll look into this. Any idea what this sensor is about?

Top knob is for swivel. Loosen it, too.

    Beneteau Swift Trawler 44

Right, the lever backs out the height pin, then simply lift up the seat. My lower wing knob seems frozen but still able to remove seats.
