    Bissel Cove anchorage?

Fogland is nice. We have done a bunch of day anchoring there. I think there are some moorings there too.

    Moving fuel filters

I redid my fuel system this year and had a high vacuum problem. Turns out pulling fuel through my in line 125 gph electric pump was the issue. I did a bypass and problem gone. I found this out the long way. I first had 3/8 hose and was told by Racor the run was to long for 3/8 so I installed 1/2...

    Bissel Cove anchorage?

The weather looks great for the weekend. I agreed to work for my son in the morning so we will be there Saturday afternoon and spend the night. This will be our first overnight in this boat. I am so looking forward to it. I hope to see you there.

    Bissel Cove anchorage?

I saw where back in 2017 some one asked about anchorages in Narragansett Bay. I know most of them but never heard of Bissel Cove in S Kingstown. Is there any current knowledge about water depths and entrance channel? I want to spend Saturday night someplace new. Thanks

Would this cause high fuel vacuum

Do you know where that spacer is or goes? Or is that another call to the Racor tech.

Would this cause high fuel vacuum

I am just finishing up installing all new 1/2 ID fuel lines. What a MF it was getting the coiled copper through the chase. The only hose I have left is the one from the filters to the lift pump which has an SAE fitting that I need to change. As for filters I have now tried six OEM Racor filters...

Would this cause high fuel vacuum

The filters are OEM Racors. Tonight I began the not so fun process of installing the copper line. The chase is not much bigger than the pipe. The battle begins by crawling into the port side hatch in the lazerette. Then taking the coiled copper and in a few feet taking all the bends out so I...

Would this cause high fuel vacuum

I have decided to pull all the 3/8 and put the 1/2 copper back. With the push lock fittings in 3/8 hose there is a restriction. I will still need hose so that to will go to 1/2. I plan to do the swap this week after work. I will share my results when its is done.

Would this cause high fuel vacuum

I called Racors tech guy today. He claims it is the length of the run (25') using 3/8 ID that creates the vacuum. He says I must up the size to eliminate the problem. I will keep you posted on what I do and how it worked.

Would this cause high fuel vacuum

Yes dual Racor and yes same reading primary, secondary and both. I checked for vacuum in the tank there was none. No kinked lines as far as I can tell everything is good except the vacuum reading. The guy that did the work is to overwhelmed with work to be of any help.

Would this cause high fuel vacuum

I did the comparison. It had 2 micron in it from new which I changed out to 10 micron which gave me slightly less vacuum. I took the filters out and had 0 so I put in 30 micron and I am still in the red. It is a simple system. Fuel tanks through new hose to a new Racor to new hose to the new...

    1995 Nordic tug

My 1990 6BT 5.9 w/ 210 hp is turbo charged. It is in a Sundowner not a Nordic.

Would this cause high fuel vacuum

The gauge is in the red zone at 15 psi not hg. The reason hose size was reduced was due to the size of the chase 1/2 hose would not fit. He said 3/8 would work fine. If it were the hose diameter would I get 0 when filters are removed? The engine is a 6BT 5.9 Cummins 210 hp. My next step is to...

Would this cause high fuel vacuum

I had the fuel system upgraded over the winter. The boat had 1/2 copper fuel line and was replaced with 3/8 hose. There is a new Racor dual filter set up too. The problem is I now have high fuel system vacuum. If I remove the elements there is no vacuum at all. I have 30 micron filters in now...

    Outdoor seat covers?

I have three of the nice folding chairs in my cockpit. I bought the correct covers to protect them so I don't have to bring them in. After a year season of use they are shredding. What do you people use? I have heard some people use grill covers what options are out there?

    First spring start up question

I replaced the raw water pump What is the best on the hard start up method to make sure I don't run it dry. The boat goes in tomorrow, I still need to install a new heat exchanger, gear cooler, add the coolant and bleed the fuel system. I know I must run fresh water from the sea strainer. Do I...

What to do with bad gas

It depends how old the gas is and filtering wont bring the octane back. The other issue is phase separation which is when the alcohol and gasoline separate and clog things up. We take old gas and mix it with the new gas in our vehicles. They have a computer that will compensate as needed. We own...

    Thruster Proper, Prep and Paint.

I want to know about the tunnel and the entire outer housing. I am thinking at least on the outside barrier coat and bottom paint. The tunnel I just am not sure.

    Thruster Proper, Prep and Paint.

Just had a new Side Power external stern thruster installed. Is there any reason to barrier coat before bottom paint or just prime? I live in New England so fouling and barnacles are always an issue. I use Seahawk Biocop for bottom paint and it does a real good job. Thanks

    Head sink install question

How do you think Butyl tape would work to hold down and seal my new head sink. The new sink does not have studs so it would be a press to install. The old one was heavily glued down and was a bear to remove without wrecking anything.
