I have a 6BT Cummins and I am getting ready to do my first full spring service. I have drained the coolant to replace all the heater hoses and want to be sure I put the right stuff back in. Guidance please guru's. Thanks
I had a Cummins 6BTA (2002) engine. Tony Athens states that these engines are not coolant sensitive. However, it is easiest to replace with the same coolant you have been using. Some coolants don't mix well and can "gum up" the "works".
If you don't know what you have in there now, then a flush before adding a potentially new coolant is a good idea.
I used Prestone Command and was happy with it. https://prestonecommand.com/product...extended-service-interval-antifreeze-coolant/
Mixed 50/50 with distilled water.
