Replace exhaust hose 1999 350 mainship trawler

Single engine or twin? I replaced the hoses on my twin engine Yanmar powered 390. Access was ok after pulling water tanks. The hard part was getting the old hoses off and on the mufflers and 6/4 inch reducers.

    MMSI and Bahamas

I've been to Canada and the Bahamas, nobody ever asked to see an FCC license. After reading this thread I thought I would try to log on the FCC site to get a license. 1. Needed to set myself up as a user with user name and password. 2. Then tried to look at the two required forms needed to set...

    Maretron NMEA 2000 Fuel Monitor

Spottsville: There was no issue with measuring fuel flow on my Yanmar 4LHAs. At idle the in fuel is about 8 gph, out about 7.5. Net fuel burn .5 gph.

    Maretron NMEA 2000 Fuel Monitor

That's right no calibration with the Maretron components, just entering each flow transducer's K adjustment factor. Much easier then Floscan. I just finished the install on my twin engine boat. Works great. Two FFMs and four flow transducers. Two of the small Maretron displays. Also GPS to...

    Heavy Weather

This was in your Mainship? I like my boat but any steep waves over 6' would not be a good thing in my opinion. I'd be worried about the forward windows and slow draining cockpit.

    Anchor buoy

No more anchor buoy for me. The last time I used one I woke up and discovered the boat had dragged several hundred feet. Sometime during the night the boat drifted over the buoy and it snagged on one of the prop shafts. Now dragging the anchor around backwards, and I was reluctant to use...

    wi-fi antenna

I have the Wave Wifi booster which works fine. The problem is it is getting very hard to find a hot spot that is not protected. I can usually pick up at least 50 networks, lucky if there is one that is not password protected and strong enough to be usable.

    Engine gauge supplier

VDO problems here also. I have the "quad": Oil, temp. fuel, volts in one gauge. There seems to be a bad connections internally. Indications will be way off, hitting the gauge with my knuckles moves the needles(sometimes) to the correct readings. They're 15 years old, past warrantee.

    Maretron NMEA 2000 Fuel Monitor

Twisted: I have Raymarine classic MFDs. Very limited fuel info can be displayed on then, hence the two Maretron displays. I also wanted the stand alone GPS as a backup to the Ray unit. I want the fuel info completely separate from my nav system. I have been using their n2k builder, which took...

    Maretron NMEA 2000 Fuel Monitor

I have the older mechanical motors. No fuel burn available there. Putting the order together, a bit confusing the way Maretron labels their connectors. Mini, micro, mid. Ending up about 3,700. for twin engine fuel flow, ultrasonic tank levels, two small displays, gps for mpg.

    Maretron NMEA 2000 Fuel Monitor

Thanks Twistedtree Looking at available panel space more then anything. I do have space for two of the smaller dsm150s but not a single 250. I'm not ready to loose the round gauges yet, maybe someday if I get the engine interface, which Maretron does have for my Yanmars.

    Maretron NMEA 2000 Fuel Monitor

Thanks all for your good advice and ideas. I am almost over the sticker shock, my first boat cost less then the Maretron components. I like the idea of future adding on of other things, engine monitoring. weather, etc. Like many here I am a retired pilot, I want to know exactly what is...

    Maretron NMEA 2000 Fuel Monitor

Hello All: I do several long, offshore trips a year and would like to know exactly my fuel burn rate and remaining fuel. I have been considering the Maretron fuel monitoring system for my twin diesel Mainship 390. For a twin, I would need two displays, two fuel monitors, four flow sensors...

    Holding tank diverter valve

My fairly new Sealand tank has two openings for waste out. One for the dockside pump out and another for the macerator. No valves needed. I used sch40 pvc for all piping except the vent.

C-17 Tactical Approach into San Clemente NALF

I agree it looks like if the maneuver was suppose to end in a straight in landing, they were to high to do it. I can't believe that they would circle a hostile land at that low altitude. This video was training or a demo so maybe a straight in landing was not intended. Still interesting to...

    Sales tax in florida

I see boats, usually 60'+ very shiny sport fisherman, registered in Roadtown, which I assume is in Jamaica. I may be wrong but I don't think the owners are Jamaican, or the boats have ever even been to Jamaica.

    Mainship gear shift cable.

On my 390, the upper helm cables attach to the lower helm, then to the motors. Nothing special about them, stock Teleflex. To replace, use old cable to pull new cable. Still may get hung up and require pulling stbd side window

    Top Off Fuel Tanks...

Haulout weight: I agree with you guys that with our boats the weight of fuel is no issue for the travel lifts. I was thinking of the hull distortion when the boat is on the hard. Full tanks is about 2500 lbs extra in my boat.

    Top Off Fuel Tanks...

...when the boat will not be used for several months? In the water, in Florida. Top off: Less condensation, maybe buy at a cheaper price. or Nearly empty tanks: Fill up with fresh fuel right before a trip is planned. Less weight if boat has to be hauled. Thoughts?
