Rebedding glass windows with wood trim on 1985 Chien Hwa Trawler

Hi, I looked through your blog and found a post about the windows, but it's mainly about the window frames, not how you rebedded the actual glass and frame. Unless I overlooked that. Do you have any input on what sealant you used? Thanks!

Rebedding glass windows with wood trim on 1985 Chien Hwa Trawler

Hello, What would be the best bedding compound to use to rebed the glass window in the photo? Butyl tape, 3M 4200, both together or anything else? There is a wood frame on the inside, then fiber glass, then another wood frame on the outside. Any other insides? This is the first time we are...

    Hull seepage

Hi, We have a 1985 Chien Hwa trawler and most of our windows leak. We are wondering if we should fix them ourselves or have someone take care of them. What is a good price to get them fixed? We live in the San Francisco bay area. If fixing ourselves, does anyone have any tips on how to do...

Varnish vs Teak Oil for exterior caprails

I just redid the wood on our boat and decided to go with "le tonkinois". I love it, it is non toxic and you can just apply another coat if the varnish thins. There is no flaking. I don't sand in between and it looks great.
