    Bottom Cleaning

What is the most cost effective, efficient and environmentally friendly way to remove bottom paint? I’ve read about Farrow blasting but is it commercially available (in Canada)? What are the best alternatives. Our yard does not allow open sanding.

    Upgrade Furuno Plotter

I have 2 old (2002 vintage) Furuno 1850DF C-Map NT plotters. I want to upgrade these to something with downloadable maps and better visuals. One sounder is reading erratic depths and the readings keep cycling on and off. I don’t want to change the transducers unless this can be done without...

    Costs to paint

The best job and most competitive price you will bet on an Alexseal paint job is with Valet Yacht services at Shelter Island. They spray onlt and prep work is meticulous.

Can the Cruise Industry survive ?

What about bareboat chartering. It seems like a much safer way to go although you don’t have someone catering to you night and day.

    Project Boat Wanted

She’s a nice vessel and worth a look. I am an owner in a small boutique yacht repair business in Vancouver thus the interest in a project boat.

    Project Boat Wanted

Thanks Ron. Probably right but have all fibreglass hulls escaped the storm damage over the past couple if seasons?

    Project Boat Wanted

    Two Cruise Ships Collide

Firing someone is an admittance of blame. Usually wait until all the insurance claims and liability issues are taken care of then fire the captain.

    Positive Anchor Drag Detector System

Boathealer is correct about underwater radio. We have figured a better solution for getting the information from this anchor to the boat. And Lawrence D thanks for your validation on the price. If you balk at $300 for an innovative safety device for your boat then you have forgotten what BOAT...

    Positive Anchor Drag Detector System

Thanks Derek. There are few folks who get it and understand that there is a market for a better anchor drag detection system (better than relying on a geofence which is a lagging indicator). People who say that they don't need another gadget on their boat because they have decades of experience...

    Positive Anchor Drag Detector System

Nikko thanks for your useful feedback. Without giving too much away, yes we are using wifi where there is no cell range. The initial prototypes will not be able to anchor in 120ft of water (who does that?). To capture the most practice anchoring depths we are going for <50ft water depth. The...

    Positive Anchor Drag Detector System

Thanks for the info and comments. A cable attached to the anchor chain would probably get destroyed so we are looking at alternatives for sending the signal back to the boat.

    Positive Anchor Drag Detector System

MYTraveler i would be interested in any information you have on the similar system you purchased a few years ago. I haven’t been able to find anything that comes close.
