    Storebro 31 Adriatic

HEREis antoehr enclosure. The sliding aluminium patio door used here is clearly a poor choice. I thought you could give me a nicer idea.

    Storebro 31 Adriatic

I wasn't thinking in enclosing the whole deck, more like half or so. The reason I am even considering this rpoject is because the boat is selling for 1/20 of the value quoted by the nice gentlemen before you *

    Storebro 31 Adriatic

I am considering buying this boat (not this precisely but this model) Storebro 31 Adriatic and my question is ... how feasible is it to add a hardtop and back door in order to make it lockable. A bit like it's brother the Baltic model* Baltic Any ideas? Kind Regards Marc

    Hamilton Jet drive

Hi Eric and thank you for your reply. I live in Sydney, most of you guys live in the US. As far as boats and boat accessories, the prices in the US are about 1/3 of what we must pay here. All I get if I contact Hamilton is a referral to my local Hamilton representative. I know the prices...

    Hamilton Jet drive

Hi there! Can anyone tell me who can I write to that sells Hamilton Jet drive units second hand. I sent a few e-mails and they keep on refering me to my local agent in Sydney. The prices here are way over the top and I am sure I can do better buying there and paying transport myself. I am after...

    Valvtect fuel

For those who like to add back some lubricity to low sulfur diesel and improove combustion all in one, here is a simple formula for home made additive that will not hurt your wallet and make your engine very happy. Ingredients: 2 litres of 2 stroke oil. (Find a good brand that claims 1:100) 1...

    Threat and error management

The study of errors and ways to avoid them and apply solutions is possible in a corporate environment like an airline, and can certainly be done in a similar way by a shipping company. However to find a way to apply the same principles in a hobby/ pleasure / individual / personal situation would...

    LPG/Diesel

LPG/Diesel. Because of the way a diesel engine works, almost always with excess air, it is possible to top up the engine with gas, be it methane (natural gas) Propane or a mixture like we get in Australia of Propane Butane and Ethane called LPG, Autogas or similar names. As opposed to the...

    This is good stuff!!

A CAV type filter with a glass bowl flows the fuel down thrugh the center and into the bowl and then up through the filter element. When it is ture that the air will tend to go up, small bubbles of air will be visible in the fuel flow providing there is a resonable flow of fuel and that the...

    Diesel Fuel Blend

The question is if anyone uses MDO in Australia or Diesel 3 or 4 in the US, in your marine engine, and if there is any cost savings.

    Diesel Fuel Blend

Talking about fuel, what sort of diesel fuel do you use? Is it the same diesel fuel used in trucks or do you use heavier fuel oil? In Australia we call hem Diesel...the one for cars and trucks MDO medium diesel oil HFO Heavy Fuel oil I think there are two or three more classifications --...

    New Anchor

Wow, never thought of the anchor and chain being such a problem. So you actually suggest a power pump, we call that a gurney, I have one with a Honda 6HP petrol engine that would blow the render off a brick wall, and is nice and small. I wonder if the pump would take the salt water though...

    Electric Boat Engines

The injectors are the pump...well I think the pump is the injector but anyway, we agree on that! If you had heaps of space, you could have a 3-71 set up next to your 6-71 as an auxiliary engine with another shaft or on the same shaft don't know, and use the 3-71 full blast and when it's not...

    New Anchor

Wow, that looks cool in deed, big surface area, hope it is better than their website, I have yet to see a worst one. When will website designers realise that the customer does not give a toss about the artistic value of a website yet wants to find and understand the product advertised? Probably...

    This is good stuff!!

CAV type filters in a glass or simply a glass water trap go before the priming pump and should be standard on any marine or stationary engine. They are invaluable to detect water contamination and of course to show air leaks. Their downside is that they break if you hit them with a tool...

    Electric Boat Engines

3-71 ? Why? Are you overpowered? You can down-rate your engine by changing to smaller pump/injectors

    A tree crushed my railing

I agree, looks worst than it is. A good metal workshop with experience in aluminium should be able to repair it. Are the deck attachment point not damaged? Perhaps you should try people who are not into working for boats. I find that any workshop that does boats or Motorhomes, tends to be...

    Going green

We seem to have gone down a different path, but just for the record, and not trying to be contentious... Most small generators have 12 volt output that provides 12-12.5 volts whilst running under load. The same as a charged 12 volt battery, and that's all this 12 volt output...

    Cpp

Found an article on CPP that when a bit old gives a comparison of costs. It seems the CPP compares good because it does not need a gearbox http://www.kastenmarine.com/CPprops.htm -- Edited by Marc1 at 03:28, 2008-03-26

    Electric Boat Engines

Yes I agree so far, and to me, that has little experience with boats but a a bit of experience repairing large generators, it seems that the whole shebang is so expensive that it would pay for a couple of decades of fuel to feed a trusty 6-71 detroit...man do I love those engines with a 6" free...
