    KadeyKrogen 42 For Sale

“Lady Anne” a beautiful and ready to cruise KK42 is for sale! This is absolutely not a project boat as she’s ready to cruise in any direction today. There simply aren’t many options that need to be added to her so you won’t need to pump a bunch of additional expensive in to be ready to go. A few...

    Dog PFD recommendations

Dogs Float! We’ve been using a “”RuffWear” Pfd for a few years now. Our dog is on the small side and wears an XS @18 pounds, but we’ve met other boaters with much larger dogs using this style. Never heard anything but good about the product. As you can see Zelda is more than happy to wear her...

    Paravane stabilisers actual loads.

Let’s measure this downward force Fortitude- You’ve got the crane scale, I’ve got a KK42 that is all set up with the riggings and fish. Let’s get together and tie them together to get some real world numbers. If you remember we met over at Port Ludlow in Sept. Rob & Anne “Lady Anne” KK42 La...

Kuma rail mount for Webber grill

Another use for BBQ Mount I recently used the same KUMA BBQ Mount for another purpose. My wife requested that I build her a small table to use while she resides on the bench in pilot house on our Kadey Krogen. With a few minor additions of some angle 2 X 2 aluminum to attach the wood table. As...

    Bridge clearance

Our KK42 is set up with paravanes as you can see. The vertical poles are 20 feet long, in the upright position they are the same height as the mast. For safety purposes and with a small amount of height added for safety I would say that out height is 24 feet!

    Paravanes

Paravane lines I’m sure that they’ll work OK without chain attached to the fish. My personal feeling is that the added weight below the waterline certainly can’t hurt anything. When you go to retrieve the fish I think that you will find that it is much easier to grab hold of the chain vs...

    Paravanes

Paravane rigging When you start building your rigging lines I assure you that you’ll be surprised at how much line is involved! All of my rigging is Amsteel minus the six foot nylon shock lines and six feet of chain on each fish. Several hundred feet of line was required for or KK42. By the way...

    Need new block heater

Might I suggest an oil pan heater. They make a small heat pad type heater that’s about four inches square that sticks to the bottom of your pan. I’ve used them on our boats as well as our cars. Your oil pan probable holds 12 plus quarts of oil and the block has several hundred pounds of iron to...

    Paravanes

Your Craftmanship is Outstanding! All of your paravane projects are truly works of art to be admired! I’ve been running boats with traditional paravane setups for a couple of decades with never an incident. Traditional Paravane was meant to be funny! One thing that I do know for a fact is that...

    Paravane stabilisers actual loads.

I would think that a boat manufacturer like Nordhavn would have this sort of data, after all they do sell new boats that are set up with paravanes. I think that they do there own rigging for such equipment. I would love to see these numbers as well! Are there any other boat boat manufacturers...

    Paravane stabilisers actual loads.

My drop lines to the fish are constructed with a six foot 5/8 inch three strand built with SS eyes to act a shock lines attached to 3/8 inch Dynema that is attached to six feet of 5/16 galvanized chain. For a total drop of 18 feet below the surface. Fish are Canadian style plywood winged fish...

I will be following this thread with much interest. My current vessel is a Kadey Krogen 42 that I recently installed paravanes on, our previous boat was a Willard 40 PH all so set up with paravanes. Both of these boats are truly full displacement vessels and both are well known as being very...

JD- there’s a Kadey Krogen Rondy going on this Sept over In Port Ludlow. This would be a great opportunity four you to see several different style KK’s. I have a 42 set up with stabilizers and other necessary cruising equipment moored fairly close to your location. I’d be more than happy to...

weather forecast for the inside passage

SE Ak weather Richard- there are very few navigators out there with more SE AK experience than you! One thing for sure that we both know is that cell and internet service is considerably better then we had in the past. I’ve noticed that “Puffin” is still on the dock in Anacortes. Are you taken...
