    Thinking about prop size

Opps you are correct it is the net weight. It came in at 28,000 on the lift with no water and 65% fuel on board. The Perkins is rated at 2800 in the owners manual and on the injection pump.

    Thinking about prop size

The gear ratio is 1.5:1. The wot is 2800 the tach is verified. Yes it is a very heavy boat. It was built on the hull of a commercial fishing boat. the glass is 1.5" on the bottom and it carries 650 Gallons of fuel. When we had it hauled for survey last year I did not get the existing prop size.

    Thinking about prop size

    High Oil Pressure?

I have twin Perkins 4.154s. Under power at 1800 RPM my port oil pressure creeps up to 80 pps. The starboard seems to hold at 60. If I increase RPMs to 2200 the port will drop back down to 60. Any ideas? There is no smoke from the engines which have about 2,600 hours. Both seem to run OK.

We bought a 32 foot boat that had the hull and machinery built by Ohima Plastics in 1977, and was finished by the owner in 1984. The boat was neglected due to health and after a steering system rebuild, new belts and...
