Hello, we are returning to trawler boating after 8 years of sailboat ownership. We bought a 32 foot boat that had the hull and machinery built by Ohima Plastics in 1977, and was finished by the owner in 1984. The boat was neglected due to health and after a steering system rebuild, new belts and hoses, oil changes.... We had our first trip this weekend. Lots of work left but the bones of a great long range cruiser.

Welcome, look forward to pictures and following along with the rehabilitation project.

Welcome

32' long range cruiser. Interesting. Tell about power train and fuel capacity. Photos?

Welcome to the forum! Post some pics of your boat. Always fun to look at boats were not familiar with.

So this is the beast. It is powered with twin Perkins 4-154s with walters V drives. It holds 300 gallons of diesel in two tanks. Water is 150 gallons in two tanks. It has hot water off an engine heat exchanger and a forced air kerosene heater central air system. So far we have changed all the belts and hoses, the hot water system and days of cleaning the interior. We hauled and cleaned and painted the bottom. The previous owner was meticulous prior to health issues. The boat has three anchors and enough spare parts to rebuild an engine. That is not an exaggeration. The cabin is 3/4 marine plywood with epoxy on the exterior. It only had one soft spot that was an easy repair. Next is topside and deck paint. The boat has been from the Aleutian Islands around Vancouver and to Lewiston Idaho. She is a project but well worth the effort. Not a pretty girl but she can work!
