I agree with Arc. Sandblasting Might have uncovered some bad defects. It is possible to blast a hole in steel if the operator stays in one spot to long. If your redoing the hull you might want think about using little thicker steel. Just my opinion.

Dan neither have I until I went to the Seaton web site. Seatonyachts.com. I was looking at the spects on their 60ft boat and saw they using sea water for ballast.

how does Bering fit in with Norhavn,Krogen,Fleming and diesel duck as far as safety,redundency and price and quality? I know they're steel but besides that how does Bering compare?

this is probably a dumb ques. as long as your not tied up to a slip or connected to an anchor ball is it free to anchor anywhere or do marinas have limits as to how close one can be to the marina?
