Sea Sickness ? How do you avoid it?

I get seasick. Terribly sea sick. But by knowing my triggers, I (sort of) control it. As stated previously, its different for everyone. It is important as a Skipper, to watch your guests and know the signs: Passengers who are suffering become quiet. Their skin goes pale. Their skin may also go...

    Cruisaire replacement controls

Hello all, I was wondering if anyone had replaced the old Crusaire air conditioning controls (the black 3 knob type) with a newer digital thermostat that is A) easy on the pocket book, and B) easy to switch out? The Crusaire unites themselves are working very well, I am just looking to update...

Wanted: Looking for windlass switch, breaker etc

Yes, N4712 and Caltexflanc are 100% correct. Replacement parts are easily available for and from many different manufacturers, including a lot of 'after market' items. None of the items listed were proprietary. I was hoping however, that a classified ad might help those that have such items to...

no discharge water from mermaid AC

Thank you all for your contribution to our resolution. You know how sometimes things just work themselves out? Well, I visited my friend Frank's boat today, turned on that AC unit and the system worked perfectly. Go figure. Maybe there was ice in the line, perhaps something else, who knows...

no discharge water from mermaid AC

Thanks Ski, There is good pressure from the pump. (And you are probably right about it being 110, not 12V). So, we have good pressure from the pump into the AC's metal pipe, zero at the discharge on top of the AC. If there is no valve in the pipe, I might be ok to try a sort of 'fish'...

no discharge water from mermaid AC

Good day all I am asking for my friend Frank, who has a problem with his AC. I'm trying to resolve a glitch with Frank's 12K Mermaid AC. It has no water discharged overboard when it runs. The 12 volt water pump works well with lots of water being pumped into the bottom pipe of the AC unit, but...

Galley Maid accumulator tank /hot water tank questions

Galley Maid accumulator tank /hot water tank question Thanks Scary, I agree, I think the galley maid should get a new accum. tank. Do you think it matters what type/size? (smaller is the order of the day.) The hot water heater is an Atwood. Sailor John PS, the 48 LRC is what my 38 Hat wants...

Galley Maid accumulator tank /hot water tank questions

Hello all, Despite having 'professional' winterizing of my water system, I have, during spring commissioning, had to resolve 5 pipe cracks, 1 'blown' in line water filter, and now possibly a water heater, (more about that further down). No doubt, the long cold winter has had it's way with my...

    On Board water runs black?!

Just an update...Aquabelle, looks like you win! I found and took out the Everpure in-line water filter. I turned it upside down and the water ran 'black' out if it. I have no idea how old it is, but it sure looked old. (I've had the boat for 3 years, and I didn't know it was there!) Sooooo...I...

    On Board water runs black?!

Aquabelle, that's an interesting thought....could be. Its the only thing that all water goes through, hot or cold, dock pressure or pump pressure. Sailor John
