    Adapting a hall effect sensor/magnet to existing alternator (W signal) tachometer

    Great video. I'm in and will be installing this solution. Can I unplug the W wire from the alternator and connect (jumper) it to the output from the Dakota adapter? i.e. use the existing wiring.

    Don't judge. Ours is not a blue water boat. 3 foot waves on a river is kinda high. We will wait until it calms down.

    We are liveAboards so rain doesn't keep us pier side. Wind, fog, and 3 foot waves will keep us tied up to wait for better weather.

    Dave, We are planning a trip from Knoxville TN to Jacksonville FL. During your trip did you track engine hours? I want to use this as a rough estimate for time and cost.
