    My scheduled survey

its been a while since I took mine but I think the course is a minimum of 4hrs long but longer if you take notes (which i suggest). It can be done at your own pace through, if you do a section or two each each day you will be done in about a week to a week.5. It has probably changed since I took...

    having an exclusively towed tender

I like the idea of having a bigger tender, after a day traveling at 8 knots its nice to be able to zip around going 20-25 knots. I also like the idea of being able to fish from it and pull the vessel if something bad were to happen. All this cannot be fit into a tender that will fit over an aft...

    Replacing rusted out fuel tanks

This may be a dumb question but if you replace a port 350 gallon tank with smaller tanks (a couple 25-50 gallon tanks) wouldn’t that cause a list to starboard where the other 350 gallon tank is? Not trying to start anything just trying to gain information Thanks!

    What is this???

Hi all, As i was looking on Craig’s list/YachtWorld etc. I came across a burger motor yacht with “treasure blowers” very confused on what they are and why one would fit them on a boat. Really nice boat...except the price :-) Here’s the link...

Grand Banks 32 as a liveaboard

Thanks for the input, I would intend to cruise with the boat a lot, (weekends, a couple week long trips here and there). You raise a good point about the generator, that’s a point I’ve been thinking about a lot lately.

Grand Banks 32 as a liveaboard

I have looked at this boat and it’s great except I would have to ship it to Washington some how, I’ve heard some horror stories that leave me skeptical to buy a boat that far away. Thanks for the input! Edit: this was in response to JohnP

Grand Banks 32 as a liveaboard

Hi all, I am testing the waters and gathering info for potential live aboard boat options. One I am considering is a GB 32. I am pretty set on living on a GB, for a first livabord boat the 32 checks most of my boxes however I am a little concerned about lack of space. Has anyone ever lived on a...

    Grand Banks transport

Hi, I found a boat I like, a GB 32. The 32 is in New Jersey and I am in Seattle. If we overlook the flying out for surveys and misc. like that, how much would it cost to transport and could I transport this boat without taking the flybrige off? (It’s a fiberglass ‘74, the price is 34...

https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/boa/d/bellevue-chb-trawler-in-good-condition/6923027803.html Hi, I am really liking this boat(especially the price!) I think CHBs are quality boats. Hi everyone, I found a Grand Banks I really like but it has issues. https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/boa/d/seattle-1973-grand-banks/6922037336.html I have a budget of 10-15k for this boat if purchased at this price, is this to much work for a newbie ( most experience on trailer boats). Question for perspective wood boat buyer

Hi, I am considering a Grand Banks 36 or 42 for live aboard, through research I have found that wood is much cheaper that fiberglass. I love the twin Lehman’s so I would not want a boat 80 or newer. I have lots of boating experience but little with wood and wood maintenance (but have done lots...

    Generator question

Looking at boats, some have a built in marine generator some do not. My questions are does anyone know the cost of putting in a marine generator or can I just use a portable gas one? And follow up question is it advisable to use a portable gas generator on a boat?
