    Cracked glass replacement

Hi DSC, Thank you so much for this information. My wife and I will start the look for a commercial installer as this is definitely not a job we want to tackle. I appreciate the detail which allowed us to make this decision easy. GMandGW

    Cracked glass replacement

Hello all! Unfortunately we have damaged a sliding glass window on our sun deck, port side. We have an 87 Nova trawler, curious if it’s possible to remove the cracked glass, get it measured and replace? The frame seems to be one piece, so I’m unsure how to approach. Thanks! PS: Apologies for...

    Replacing cabin lock

Hi, Looking for solutions to secure our cabin. I had to drill out the current lock as it wasn't working well and I got the key stuck in it. If anyone has an idea for a way to lock/secure this cabin door I'd appreciate it. I looked quite deep into Google for an exact sized replacement lock but...

    Tips for Hatch self install

Update…. Mid bow hatch survived the storms with no leaks! I’ll take the win. The front bow hatch was sealed and set this evening and the wait begins for the next rain. As always, I appreciate the advice!

    Tips for Hatch self install

Update… Anticipating a good test as a line of thunderstorms moves through tonight/tomorrow. For the forward bow hatch, I used Marine Tek epoxy to cover the exposed fiberglass. That sanding and sealing will be continued after this rolls through. For the mid hatch, I used marine sealant 4000. I...

    Tips for Hatch self install

Pics Good advice so far! Did a dry fitting of the 2 new hatches and they seem pretty spot on size-wise. Adding some pictures because any further direction would be much appreciated. Leaning toward butyl tape currently. I noticed once I removed the old forward bow hatch there were some spots...

    Tips for Hatch self install

Hello fellows, After putting in the order back in Oct 21, my wife and I finally received 2 replacement hatches from Bomar for our 95 Wellcraft Portofino 43. They have been allegedly sized to drop into the current designated space. I feel this is a project my wife and I can reasonably complete...

    Refrigerator removal

Success!!! Removal of the refrigerator is complete. Many thanks to all the advice here! Managed to remove with minimal damage to the existing cabinet. Now to find a ‘fitting’ replacement.

    Refrigerator removal

Managed to remove about half an inch of the plywood above the fridge (thanks @ghost) using a handsaw (very carefully as the cabinet seems solidly installed). I was able to slide the fridge out a couple of more inches. What am I looking at dealing with connection-wise as I pull this out -very...

    Refrigerator removal

This is what I am going to try next. I believe if I can remove a half inch to inch of the piece of cabinet above I can get the fridge out and protect the floor (definitely more attached to the floor than the cabinet). I currently have just a hacksaw. I have a bit of a budget for tools so any...

    Refrigerator removal

I am going out to check again today. I do not believe the counter will lift without major demo but will double check. As always I appreciate the feedback from everyone!

    Refrigerator removal

I've removed any screws visible that may be attached at the base, there just isn't much access from any angle. The shelving doesn't appear easily removable nor that area of the plasteak floor.

    Refrigerator removal

Thank you for the prompt replies! I will be back on the boat tomorrow evening and will get some pictures and try to answer your questions as best I can. I do know I was only able to move it barely after removing the screws I found and got the front two feet of the fridge free of the rust and...

    Refrigerator removal

Hello all, The wife and I finally got our 95 Wellcraft Portofino 43 out of the mechanic's slip and into our marina. Now that we have time to dig in, I discovered the refrigerator is kaput. I would like to remove it and replace with a newer (preferably smaller) fridge. The issue is the current...

Hello! New member and happy to be here

Later that same year…. I reviewed this post to see how long ago it was. 8 months ago, we started boat shopping. Due to crazy prices in Florida we bought a “boat project “ in August, as it was the more financially sensible way to purchase. After 3 months on the hard for repairs, we’re just a few...

Live aboard slip availability in SW FL

Please message me your email address and I’ll forward you the info from the marina. You don’t need to be a member, we aren’t. We live a half hour away and found a slip much closer, so we ended our lease early. September is already paid for, so if you want it now, it’s all yours.

Live aboard slip availability in SW FL

Yes! Regatta Pointe on the Manatee river has a slip available. I know because we had to leave our slip lease early (last week) and the marina is still looking to put a boat in that slip - E21. They welcome live aboards. Message me if you need more info.

Struggling with what to offer on a Chris-Craft

The boat is at a marina and the owner only had it 6 months before falling in love with the water, buying a bigger boat, and living on it in the slip next door. The tank leak must have been there when he purchased and since it’s at a marina, it’s probably insured. I reached out to the owner to...

Struggling with what to offer on a Chris-Craft

This is a fantastic amount of information. I really appreciate it! This is such an interesting boat, we didn’t want to walk away immediately. Worth a little digging. Not sure if it’s worth a little money yet, but this feedback is valuable.

Thanks Pete! Great reply. “ Fear this NOT, my friend. This boat is so far overpriced that it will be on the market for a long time.” Agreed. https://www.popyachts.com/sport-fishing-yachts-for-sale/chris-craft-33-coho-in-ruskin-florida-234473
