2003 Mainship 430 Double Cabin Fuel Supply Setup

Hi All - In learning about my new-to-me Mainship 430, it appears the fuel supply setup is very simple, with only supply and return lines to each engine from/to the corresponding port or stb tank. Generator has supply and return from the port tank. The only valves are on the supply lines, at...

    Mainship Flybridge Helm Chair Fasteners

That's a nice solution Migor, and a nice helm chair! My 430 came with the single helm chair, which I also prefer to a bench seat.

    Mainship 430 Tank Vent Caps

The original venting caps are from Perko (part number PKO 063000499B), they can be special ordered thru a retailer (like West Marine or other), Perko will not sell direct to consumer. About $10 ea. They easily twist off if you want to backflush the holding tank vent. But like Peggy said, it...

    Mainship Flybridge Helm Chair Fasteners

I was happy to discover my helm chair was already installed with a base plate, as Comodave suggested. Easy to see after removing the (indoor) carpeting the PO had installed between the base plate and the chair pedestal.

    Mainship 430 Tank Vent Caps

FYI - the vent fitting I've been looking for seems to be a Perko 'P-trap splash guard', see link below. Not sure if I actually have the Perko P-traps, as the plastic fitting install on my boat (pic in prior post) is different than that shown in the Perko catalog (where the plastic guard is...

    Mainship 430 Tank Vent Caps

Perhaps I shouldn't have called these 'caps'. They are (presumably removeable) vent fittings to keep water out but still allow airflow. I will see if I can figure out which is fuel and which is holding tank, to do what Bacchus suggests. I'm afraid these will be behind the fuel tanks on the...

    Mainship 430 Tank Vent Caps

These are vents on the hull sides, about amidships. ID is about 3/4" and is threaded on the inside. I believe they are for the holding tank and fuel tank, there are a set both port and starboard. There is a screen embedded in the metal portion of the fitting. I'm just looking to replace the...

    Mainship Flybridge Helm Chair Fasteners

Comodave, Sibernut - thanks for the ideas. I'm just gonna have to open it up and see what I find.

    Mainship Flybridge Helm Chair Fasteners

Yeah, that would be a smart way to do it. As far as I can tell, the seat post does not detach from the base, although perhaps they are just corroded together. I will investigate that aspect further.

    Mainship Flybridge Helm Chair Fasteners

Hi All - Does anyone know how Mainship (2003 430 Double Cabin) fastened the flybridge helm chair to the deck? Thru-bolted with nuts on the underside (hidden by the salon headliner)? Backing plate embedded in the deck? Lag bolts? Other? I need to remove the chair for a repair, but I don't...

    Mainship 430 Tank Vent Caps

Hi All - My new to me 2003 Mainship 430 double cabin has several tank vents on the hull sides. The vent fittings have black plastic caps/covers that appear to screw on to the vent fitting - see attached pics. Some of the caps are missing. Does anyone know the manufacturer of the caps or vent...

    Legacy 34

The Legacy 34 is certainly a beautiful boat. Does it have a cored hull below the water line?

Can You Name This Place ?

Curacao. Have walked over that swing bridge several times, between the two sides of the town. The swing bridge actually floats on a series of small boat hulls. Its quite an experience to sit at one of the waterfront restaurants when a large ship enters or leaves the port.

Access to aft wall of forward head in Helmsman 38

towel bar - glue? If the bar is just to hold a towel, how about gluing something to the wall (maybe a wood strip) that the bar can be mounted to?

    Entering Canada

Yeah, we like Clayton too. Over the last 5-10 yrs its turned into a bustling little village with a great waterfront. Although we keep our boat at a less expensive backwater marina on the other side of town from the main waterfront.

    Entering Canada

We've been visiting Canada regularly this summer, traveling from our home port of Clayton NY to Gananoque ON, mostly for day trips. We fill out the ArriveCAN app to get a receipt prior to arrival in Canada. We report to a CBSA maritime reporting site and call the CBSA phone line, answer a few...

    Trawler Flip?

I agree with most replies re being put-off by the sales ad. However, for a newbie starting a boat search, one thing this boat brings out is the difficulty in assessing stained woodwork under windows and portholes. Hard to tell if its just on the surface, or if a hidden core is rotten. Several...

    Trawler Flip?

high fuel burn I would bet its about 30-40 gallons/hr at 22 mph. I wouldn't run that speed very far, but nice to have for short runs when in a hurry.

    Trawler Flip?

Does anyone recall seeing this boat for sale many months ago? It appears to me they've now painted or covered several inside cabin walls underneath the windows. I like the model, really a deep-V cruiser with a trawler style cabin structure...
