    We have a trawler, fiberglass hardtop on 1 1/4 stainless bimini-style frame with sunbrella - isinglass sides. We do love the hardtop & will never go back to canvas...put it on yiur list for later if you can...good luck.

    We transitioned 2 years ago, some observations: - Per our moniker, we own a Mainship, which is semi-displacement. The boat can go ~15 knots, but we generally transit at 7-9 knots, whatever is most comfortable., and find that "slow cruise" to be more than sufficient for our purposes...

    We have a new-to-us Mainship 34T with what appears to be a nice Samson post (or bit bollard) on the foredeck. There are also 2 stainless cleats on either bow. The problem with the post, though, is it seems to not have a fair lead for any use other than the anchor rode when anchoring, because...
