    Non-invasive tank monitoring systems

Have you considered a pressure transducer? You can attach it to a fitting on the bottom of the tank and they are incredibly accurate. Maretron sells them but this is something you can also diy.

    Starlink Gen 3 Mounting options

I recently installed a gen3. I built a small platform out of starboard, mounted a Trio Flatmount to it. So far it's been working great without any obstructions or issue.

    Greetings From Syracuse, NY

We previously lived in the Syracuse area and kept a boat up at Clayton. The thousand islands area is awesome for boating.

New to Great Lakes Cruising and in Need of Guidance

Clayton and the thousand islands are an awesome area to do some cruising in both on the Canadian side and the US side. If your boat draws less than 5’ I recommend the Rideau canal that starts at Kingston, ON.

Recommendation for buyer's broker in the Southeast

Regarding “why is it needed”? The boat we purchased never hit the open market, neither did 3 others we looked at. Relationships and experience matter. Having tried and true contract paperwork, accounts setup for escrow, etc. help. If you’re looking at a boat with seller representation why not...

Recommendation for buyer's broker in the Southeast

We just purchased a trawler with the assistance of JMYS. Jeff is a well known name in the community and Mark (who is local to Fl) was fantastic to work with.

What are your boating goals of 2024 ?

When you get to the thousand islands I highly recommend a stop in Clayton. Great small village. We used to keep our boat there.

    Tool Set Recommendations?

“ Gear Wrench has some nice sockets and I do use them on projects that I might damage my better tools.” Thanks. This is the direction I’m leaning as it seems to be a good balance between quality and cost.

What are your boating goals of 2024 ?

Goal 1: buy a boat (we are under contract so that’s at least headed in the right direction) Goal 2: cruise the Chesapeake this year and get to know some local cruisers

Over propped. Is it really a problem?

This is also a good resource: https://mvdirona.com/TechnicalArticles/DieselEngineOverload/ You may want to inquire about this on the boatdiesel forums. There are a bunch of very knowledgeable folks who chime in there.

Thanks for the tip on boltdepot. I got 316 vs. 304 crosswise in my head and found a couple of inexpensive kits on amazon but they were 304 which won't meet the requirements here.

Is there a good 'starter' set of stainless fasteners (screws, nuts, bolts, washers) folks have come across or is is more of a "go buy a small pack of the common sizes and then add to your stock over time"?

Wow thanks for all the great replies. Ironically I was always partial to Craftsman as well but started to have reservations once Sears went out of business. I'm not sure if it's the same quality. It was actually the project farm video that aimed me at GearWrench. It also comes with the blow...

    Tool Set Recommendations?

Hey all. Just put in an offer on a 53' selene. Our prior boat was a pocket cruiser and while I did most of my own work, the tool set on that boat was largely cobbled together from spares I had around the house supplemented with cheap HF stuff. It's been a number of years and as I've aged a bit...
