    the Honda weighs about 50 lbs, I found the 150 igloo cooler leaves enough rooms to start it and shut it off while in the cooler. both vents are on the ends, I do have holes in the bottom just incase of water that might get in.

    I have installed the Honda 2000 on the fly bridge inside a 150 quart cooler, I got the idea from this forum, no noise I run the generator about 2 hours a night when I am out, so a gallon of gas 3 days. It was a lot cheaper than 6k, so no CO problems and no noise and it is out of the way along...

    If you have a Mainship with the extended fly bridge. That is where I put mine in a 150 quart igloo cooler Walmart $87.90 shipped to the Marina, a few modification on the ends for vent, and it looks great on the fly bridge.

    I have had a Honda 2000 on my SEA RAY FOR 3 years now. I purchased one for my 34 ft Mainship it runs the a/c, battery charger, and the refrigerator, just couldn't see why would I spend 6k for a diesel genset.

    There is a carry on A/C installed on my 79 Mainship just below the flybridge steering wheel it does fit well and out of the way, some one was thinking, you can buy the units for about $300 from the sailor exchange in Jacksonville. The Honda runs the A/C unit, battery charger and the fridge

    Mainship WINDOWS/DOORS??

    I have a Mainship that I purchased this year, the sliding door has been moved to the starboard side which is nice walk way, but there is no latch on the sliding door, has anyone given you any ideas??? And of course I am Colo Sprgs and the boat is in Brunswick GA.

    Holiday Weekends

    Trying to live that dream part time, but the repairs to get the mainship seaworthy has been a bit much. The waste tank is my next repair, custom made tanks are expensive. Any ideas or advice would help Sincerely Marty

    To everyone who responded thank you, I am back in GA. I did find a diesel service shop, I feel at easy after talking to him Roy's diesel and injection service in Jacksonville FL. The pump was not to bad to remove, he had a lot of good tips on what not to do.

    what year is your PERKINS, is it a Turbo?? I am in Colorado Springs and the boat is in Brunswick GA. Trying to at least by a kits to reseal the shaft with new O-Rings, I do not know the model number of the pump, I didn't look at it when I left for home.

    From what I have read it doesn't seem to difficult, I have never remove one. I am a mechanic and have worked on 6.9 diesel and 7.3 power stroke. But experience is always a plus. Thanks again for your info.
