Dark colours on composites are a bad move.

See, yes, there you go. I don't have to win the grand prize, just a few additional million would do.

Boy that Arksen promo video sure is cool, CGI or not. Although that little submarine glider thing makes me nervous after the recent Titanic exploration failure.

Years ago I would watch YouTube videos posted by a family doing a very long
distance, multi-year trip. Three@Sea, two parents and a daughter named Ayla.
She's long since gone off to college, around 2010 I think, in a Nordhavn 43. She started as a little munchkin and by the end of the voyage and video series, she was surprisingly adult. But I'd watch their videos and envy that Nordhavn, looked so robust and extravagant and beyond my means. Funny how tastes and positions in life change over time -- now I need a Seaton 83.

Ever buy a lottery ticket and while waiting for the drawing go dreaming of what boat you would buy when you win?

If you only wanted to cruise with you wife/husband/partner ( maybe a 1 crew to do cleaning etc.) what boat would you chose.

Post a link if possible so all can enjoy the dream fantasy

Guess the thread doesn't matter because I didn't win AGAIN.

But the winning ticket was sold only 10 miles from me so I am getting closer and maybe should just hold my course.

Guess the thread doesn't matter because I didn't win AGAIN....

Hope springs eternal! There's always next time. I think to myself that buying a lottery ticket is like setting fire to two $1 bills, but then my wife would say fueling the boat is exactly the same thing.

I'm glad to see others are of the same opinion as myself.

After attending boat shows and early and late Trawlerfests I always come away with the same feeling: I'm so glad to be back on my own boat. It's just the right size and everything is where it should be. Now that it has A/C it's even more perfect.

Fleming, Fleming, ...Nordhaven.
Keep dreaming. I am also very pleased with my Krogen Express!!
Watersportgreetings ex Netherlands.

Fleming. But I just told the wife as she was going out the door to the lottery ticket store that winning a billion would ruin our lives forever in so many different ways that it's not even funny, even if we just gave it all away. Would never want to ruin grandkids lives with gifts of it either.

$1 and a dream

A Fleming would definitely be my dream boat, but I have been thinking more about this, I think my real dream would be to be able to keep my boat at my own house, in which case many boats could fit the "dream". AlaskaProf's photo looks very much like my old Legacy 28, which would have been great to keep at the house, rather than a marina I had to drive to, and which had to come out of the water every October regardless of the weather. On the other hand, if I did ever win the lottery and could buy a Fleming, I guess I could live on it and forget about a house completely!

For fast safe blue water work I'd go with a Dashew FPB. For less challenging but still blue water proven and capable an Outer Reef checks my boxes. I'd go Outer Reef rather than Fleming due to a more efficient hull design, great machinery layouts, smaller engines and much better interior layout.

But, a great part of the Lotto winnings would go into a maintenance, fuel, crew and upgrade account to allow at least $300 K per year. The crew would be one totally capable person along with their significant other.

Offshore 65. Been my dreamboat for many years! There are a half dozen of these in Newport Harbor (Newport Beach CA), that I drool over everytime I pass them

Thankfully I'm very pleased with what I have, and don't know of any boat that I would prefer.

Well, twisted, the point was to share your favorite boat, and why? Doh!!

I'd probably stick with my 38. At most trade up one notch

BUT, what I would do is find the right guy to put on salary to maintain the boat. Keep it detailed, maintain all fluids, keep a check on all systems, deal with yards and vendors for any work. Basically free me to step aboard and cruise.

Wouldn't that be sweet. I feel like I'm trending that way right now, at 72 years. Having trouble getting around the engine room. Pisses me off.

If I won the "big one" it would be a boat about twice as big as the one I have now, maybe 3 times.

But that's not the important thing.

I want a crew. A captain to run the thing and a cook and a boatswain to keep up the ship.

While I sip champagne in the morning with eggs benedict and dine on surf and turf with a couple of whiskys in the evening.

Keep the boat around while I fish off the dingy.

When it needs service, I'll have it done at the dock and not by me in the engine room.

Oh yeah, give me 500 million and I'll be out at sea - :)

Ah, dreams...

But don't need 500 millions "only" 5 wil be good for us !
Keep our actual, make some change (my wife don't like flying bridge and all the thing upstairs ) made a deal with my wife : " cut all upstair became a low profile if I have the choice for the ...crew :lol:
MOve the boat from the light brow drawing to the second one, my wife always decide

I spent almost an entire day aboard Stella (Shearwater), the Seaton 56 Expedition boat a few yrs ago In Newport. I was very close to taking it to the next level. Timing was not right. The detail is immaculate inside and out. Beautiful boat
