boating rich

I am currently going through the inspection process on a 2001 Sabreline 34 sedan and it has spent its life in Florida. From what I understand many of the US build boats of this period had a gel coat supplier issue where the UV protection agent was not added. The boat’s gel coat has cracked eggshell and cracks over a good amount of the topside. They appear to be cosmetic. Broker is saying it would just need a full paint job. What history do you have with this issue and what are the options? How much does it generally cost to make the boat good looking, but not perfect? The boat will be based in Washington, NC so any ideas on paint/body shops in that area would be greatly appreciated.
