"Heard the Mississippi is boring and crowded with commercial track.
Anyone? Thoughts on second part of the loop?"
Make a U turn after a Chicago visit and run south via Lake Champlain if you came up the other way.
Some folks run the Ten Tom south , but it too is boring and commercial.
Folks going to & from the FL coasts via Lake O are welcome to stop , we usually have an open dock.
East of the Ortona Lock, check for space first.
Wifey B: Don't detour. See the TN River. See the Cumberland. See the TN Tom. See the Ohio. There's so much to see down the MS.
Sorry I high jacked the thread. My deepest apologies.Rather than hijacking this thread with an unrelated discussion, consider starting a new thread to discuss Great Loop travel plans.
Ted,
There's something like 1,000 miles from the Paducah, KY to Pittsburgh, PA on the Ohio river. You could spend a Fall exploring the Tennessee river and not see all of it. While I wouldn't go further South on the Mississippi river than its junction with the ohio river, the amount of time you are on it will only be a few days.

BTW, Is there a great loop forum/room/loop only discussion?
Sounds like a blast as always. Wish we could make it .
TouchePmcsurf,
Please keep on topic.

I'm definitely in for the rendezvous. So flywright you're saying there is no loop group? Seems strange with all these trawler folks. Don't you think?Anyone with questions about the Great Loop or any other topic on earth not related to the 2021 Ft. Pierce TrawlerForum Rendezvous, please start a new thread or add to an existing thread on that topic.
Let's get back to the subject topic, the 2021 Ft. Pierce travel plans.
Thanks.

Actually I didn't understand your post. You kind of lost me. Sorry. The get together is mostly boaters getting together to do fun things. It was not started as a rendezvous like many organizations have, not to say it can't evolve. Good boating rated activities occur and interactions between individuals also, but lectures, specific groups or topics are not the theme....and weren't really the intention.
Despite what some who haven't attended may think...the forum, its members and topics (pertaining to specific threads ) are generally not discussed as it is reality boating versus a web site. At the gathering you met the boater, not their keyboard.
Comrades and fun are really the themes, but great boating tidbits are also a constant stream, like whenever boaters get together, just no agenda.
Got it. Its not a rendezvous. Its a social gathering. Crystal clear. What don't you understand???....it's not a rendezvous with topics and lectures...it's mostly JUST a social gathering.
But groups do fun things like visit attractions in the area.
If you are mainly interested in the Great Loop....

We are more likely than not to be cruising South Florida this winter, perhaps our last big cruise of Scot Free. I should know by Thanksgiving how our schedule is working out. Would love to attend again...

You thinking of hanging it up?
Hallelujah. Thats all I wanted to know.I believe the gentleman was asking if there was a Loop sub forum anywhere on TF, not specifically at this meeting.
Pmcsurf1, there is not. However under Cruising And Events there are the East Coast and Interior Water sections. So I would go there and post your questions and thoughts on a new thread you can start and let this thread be solely about the Fort Pierce gathering.
