AGM batteries - Gels? to be or not to be?

Now I am just going to throw the questions out there...

Both in my solar volt controller and my charger controller they distinguish between :

Wet cell

AGM

Sealed batts.

I have treated AGM's as sealed, meaning no equalize etc.

Looking at my AGM, they have vents.. so my questions beckons:

are AGM batteries sealed?

AGMs will outgas under extreme conditions.* Other than that they do not vent, and you should not add water.* At least that is*the instruction with*all of my AGMs.

lifeline does recomend it for there batteries

I use Lifeline AGMs and have never equalized them. I do keep a desuphator on them, and the last set went about 8 years with no problems.
